Wednesday Campanella to perform theme song for movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo”! Latest trailer released!

■ “I would be happy if you could feel even a little more positive” (Wednesday Campanella, Utaha)

Wednesday Campanella’s new song “Negai wa Gyosan” has been chosen as the theme song for the movie “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendou” which will be released on December 13th. This will be the first movie theme song under Shiba’s leadership.

The movie “The Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo” is based on a children’s novel series written by Hiroshima Reiko and illustrated by jyajya (published by Kaiseisha). Set in the mysterious candy shop “Zenitendo” that only the lucky candy shop owners of all ages and genders can find, the movie depicts the events that happen to people who buy “mysterious candy” that makes their wishes come true. The series has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and is loved all over the world.

The role of “Zeni-Tendou” owner Beniko will be played by Amami Yuki, who has appeared in numerous dramas, films and stage plays and continues to be active at the forefront of the Japanese entertainment industry. The director will be Hideo Nakata, a genius of Japanese cinema who led the hit series “Ring” (1998) and “Smartphone” (2018, 2020, 2024). The screenplay will be written by Yoshida Reiko, who has worked in a wide range of genres, including “A Silent Voice” (2016) and “Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: Magical Girl of a Blue Moonlit Night” (2021). Other cast members include Kazuya Ohashi (Naniwa Danshi) as the new teacher Todoroki Kotaro, Rikka Ihara as Yoko Aida, a fashion magazine editor who was a junior of Kotaro’s in college, and Mone Kamishiraishi as Yodomi, the owner of “Tatarimedo”, who is also popular in the original work.

The theme song for this film, “Negai wa Gyosan,” was written specifically for the movie by producer Kenmochi Hidefumi. The lyrics are in line with the story of the film, and the melody is catchy and addictive, so you won’t be able to forget it once you’ve heard it.

In the new trailer, you can hear the song “Negai wa Gyosan” for the first time. Release information will be announced at a later date.

■ Comment from Wednesday Campanella’s Utaha
Wednesday Campanella will be performing the theme song for the movie “The Mysterious Candy Shop Zeni-Tendo,” and we are truly happy to be working with such a wonderful production.
The theme song, “Negai wa Gyosan,” was created by producer Kenmochi Hidefumi with the hope that it would fit in with the story of the film and leave everyone feeling positive after watching it. He sang the song with great emotion.
I hope that watching this movie and listening to “Negai wa Gyosan” will make you feel even a little more positive.

Comment from Producer Reiko Imayan
I was filled with anticipation at the thought of what kind of music would come from the fusion of Wednesday Campanella, who weaves a unique worldview with an addictive tempo and lyrics that make you want to hum along, and the world of “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo.”
“Where can I confide my wishes, my impulses, and my weaknesses that I can’t tell anyone about?” and “Live honestly.”
The song written by Kenmochi Hidefumi is a wonderful song that resonates with the hearts of those with wishes and worries, and before we know it, it takes us to a place where it gives us a push forward.
I hope you will all enjoy singing along to Utaha’s powerful voice as you watch “Wishes are Gyosan” while watching the ending credits.
