Watanabe Shota (Snow Man) x Nakamura Anne co-star in the drama “Aoshima-kun is mean” Episode 8 causes upheaval as Mom blocks are activated

■Aoshima (Watanabe Shota) and Yukino (Nakamura Anne) confess their true feelings and embrace each other without worrying about what other people think. But then a strong enemy appears!

The eighth episode of Oshidora Saturday’s “Aoshima-kun is Mean,” co-starring Snow Man’s Watanabe Shota and Nakamura Anne, will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 11pm on September 7th.

In episode 7, Yukino (Nakamura) is hit harder than she could have imagined by her younger boyfriend Aoshima (Watanabe)’s bombshell statement that he has no thoughts of marriage. She is depicted brooding alone, worrying that she doesn’t want to put pressure on Aoshima, who is 26 years younger than her, and that she doesn’t want to be a burdensome woman.

Finally, in response to Aoshima’s unintentional bombshell statement, 35-year-old Yukino replied, “I’m at the age where I’m squashing my anxieties one by one so that the people around me don’t worry about me, and preparing for five, ten years from now.” In response, women who are working hard at their jobs and battling anxieties while quietly struggling to look toward the future expressed their sympathy, saying things like, “I was moved to tears a little when Yukino poured out the real feelings of a 35-year-old…” and “I understand how Yukino feels!”

Viewers were delighted to see Aoshima gently embrace Yukino, who was completely exhausted but had poured out her honest feelings, saying, “I feel like I’ve finally caught you, Yukino.” The sight of Aoshima and Yukino embracing each other without caring about what others think, fitting the subtitle “#BigHugOfTears,” elicited an overflow of joyful comments, such as, “No one! Nothing! Don’t get in the way of Aoshima and Yukino anymore,” and “Aoshima’s sincerity was conveyed to Yukino, and I’m glad Yukino was able to tell him how she really felt.”

However, their happiness was short-lived, as Aoshima and Yukino’s real mother, Kumi Sakamoto (Tae Kimura), appeared at a time that was too inconvenient for them. Upon learning that Kumi, a famous businesswoman, was Aoshima’s mother, Yukino became nervous. Kumi then stared at the two of them without saying a word, creating a premonition of some turmoil in the ending.

Just when you think their romance is progressing, their mother shows up… In the hashtag “#MomBlock,” social media was abuzz with comments such as “Their real mother looks like a tough opponent…”, “The final boss has arrived”, “Next week will be a test”, and “Seriously, now’s not the time for mom!!!” The appearance and presence of “Mom” Kumi, who stands in the way of the couple, caused a stir. Many people were worried about the love between the couple, which still has a difficult future ahead.

■ After “#OkanBlock”, a “family wall” stands in their way. They are forced to break up… a big crisis!?
Episode 8 depicts the aftermath of “#OkanBlock”. Aoshima introduces Kumi as “the woman who gave birth to me”, but Yukino realizes that “I still don’t know anything about Aoshima…” and talks with Aoshima on the rooftop of the company during lunch break. Aoshima is also confused by Kumi, who suddenly appeared two years ago, even though they were separated when he was a child, saying, “Even if you suddenly call me my mother, I’m no different from a stranger.”

Yukino visits Aoshima’s second mother Tamayo Tamura (Nobuko Ito) and third mother Reiko Shinohara (Akiko Yada) alone to discuss Kumi and Aoshima. They tell her that Aoshima may not be convinced about “marriage” or “becoming a family” due to his complicated family background.

On top of that, Kumi suddenly comes to Yukino’s house and starts saying, “I want you to break up with Mizuki.” Now the family’s wall stands in the way. Yukino is once again faced with a big problem.

Meanwhile, Aoshima asks Yukino out on a date, but when Yukino arrives at the meeting place, Aoshima looks gloomy for some reason. Will the two be able to overcome the barriers of their families and continue their happy relationship?

■ Episode 8 Synopsis
Yukino Katsuragi (Nakamura), a general affairs employee at the beverage manufacturer Cat Beverage, was more hurt than she could have imagined when her boyfriend Mizuki Aoshima (Watanabe), who is nine years younger than her, told her, “I’m not thinking about marriage at all.” Not wanting to be a burden, Yukino was unable to ask Aoshima how he really felt, but when Aoshima told her how he really felt, saying, “I love you so much that I can take all of your feelings and words,” Yukino honestly told him how upset she was when he said, “I’m not thinking about marriage,” and jumped into his arms, saying, “As long as we can be together like this, that’s enough for me.”

Their love is stronger than ever, and they are filled with happiness. As they embrace, not caring about the people around them, Kumi Sakamoto (Tae Kimura) appears. Aoshima introduces her as “the woman who gave birth to me,” and Yukino becomes nervous, thinking, “Mom?!”

The next day, Yukino is worried about Kumi who left without saying anything, so she asks Aoshima about it during her lunch break. Aoshima confesses that Kumi, who left when she was a child and is now like a “stranger,” suddenly showed up two years ago, and he is confused. Then, Kumi suddenly turns up at Yukino’s house. Yukino is upset, and Kumi tells her, “I want you to break up with Mizuki.” Meanwhile, Aoshima asks Yukino out on a date. When Yukino arrives at the meeting place, she finds Aoshima there with a gloomy expression on his face…!?
