Kikuchi Fuma (timelesz) will be taking on the challenge of being the MC of a sports program for the first time! It has been announced that “Kikuchi Fuma’s Sports Kingdom” will be broadcast nationwide on the Kansai TV and Fuji TV networks from 4:05 p.m. on September 22nd.
“Kikuchi Fuma’s Sports Kingdom” is a sports variety show featuring one impossible showdown after another that will make you exclaim, “I’ve never seen a match like this!”
The program will feature a triple feature of never-before-seen confrontations and challenges, including a volleyball vs. soccer match that transcends the boundaries of sports, a serious battle between the dream magic ball “Gyroball” from the world of the baseball manga “MAJOR” and a team of baseball legends, and even professional boxer Nasukawa Tenshin taking on the amazing moves of Jackie Chan.
Kikuchi Fuma is a sports fan at heart, having belonged to the baseball club in elementary school and the basketball club in junior high school, and seems delighted to have been selected as the MC for a sports program, which has been his dream.
Joining Kikuchi in the studio to liven things up are Yoshimura Takashi (Heisei Nobushikobushi), Satozaki Tomoya, and Yuchami, as well as Paris Olympic medalists, judoist Nagase Takanori and wrestler Susaki Yui (※the kanji for 崎 is spelled ‘tatsusaki’). As they keep a close eye on the unusual three-match series, they will predict the outcome from their own unique perspective. In addition, there will be a judo vs. wrestling match that tests reflexes, and a heated battle between medalists!
When Kikuchi received the offer to be the show’s MC, he explained his thoughts at the time, saying, “I thought, finally, a sports program! I had a feeling that I didn’t have much of a sports image, and that I wouldn’t get an offer to be on a sports program, so I thought, ‘Finally…finally it’s come!’ and I was very happy.”
He continued with a smile, “You might not have the image of me as a sports person, but the truth is I’ve been involved in a variety of sports, so I decided to act as MC in the hope that I could fully demonstrate my love of sports.”
After the recording of the program, he commented with satisfaction, “This time, there were new challenges and competitions that transcended sports, so the video was fresh and fun. Everyone in the studio was very warm and friendly, and I think it became a program with a great atmosphere where we all had fun watching the interesting competitions.”
Finally, he promoted the program, saying, “It is no exaggeration to say that this is the sports world’s ‘matchup of the century’; it is a program full of highlights. Legends from various fields will be appearing, as will athletes and Olympians…you will be able to see a truly wide range of sports stars competing across boundaries. We will also have two medalists in the studio, so I hope you will check it out!”
