&TEAM K & FUMA appear on TBS’s “The Superhuman Derby”! “We realized we have to try harder” (FUMA)

■THE RAMPAGE Urakawa Shohei, Kawai Fumito and other top performers from different genres compete in a serious battle! The studio was in a frenzy as they displayed a succession of superhuman moves.

Starting at 4:30pm on September 14th, Saturday Break “Top performers from different genres face off! THE Chojin Derby” will be broadcast on the TBS network (excluding some regions).

In this program, four superhumans from different genres will clash over one theme, putting their pride on the line, and the studio guests will predict who will come out on top. The studio guests are Eiji Shibata (Untouchable), Aika Kanda, K (&TEAM), FUMA (&TEAM), and Sayaka Okada. The show will be hosted by TBS announcer Manoko Hibi.

The first competition is the “Dance Karaoke Derby,” where karaoke and dancing are scored simultaneously to determine the true superhuman who can “sing and dance.” The contestants are singer and actor Sakurako Ohara, performer Shohei Urakawa of the EXILE’s younger brother group THE RAMPAGE, idol Fumito Kawai, and Kintaro from the impersonation world. The karaoke will be scored by a machine, and the dancing will be judged by KENZO and Ruu of DA PUMP, both of whom have won numerous world championships.

The second showdown is a “cliff-edge endurance derby” in which participants compete to see how long they can hang from a diving board in a 5m-high pool. Risa Ota, a sport climber who placed 5th in the world championships, Tomohiro Kawaguchi, who will represent Japan in the 2024 SASUKE World Cup, acrobatic entertainer Ciro from Big Small, and Yang Lan from the Chinese acrobatic troupe will take on the challenge. The studio is abuzz with the unexpected succession of superhuman techniques!

The third competition is the “Sports Lottery Big Win Derby,” where participants predict the results of soccer matches and try to win big prizes. The competition will feature former Japanese national soccer team striker Yoshito Okubo, Junichi Davidson, who is well known for his Honda Keisuke impersonation, soccer-loving comedian Sugaya of Cacaroni, and a soccer prediction AI. Will they win big prizes with a string of accurate predictions?

■&TEAM’s K, FUMA and others predict which superhuman will win!
The studio guests bet their coins to predict the winner. The four superhumans are divided into “favorite,” “contender,” “dark horse,” and “longshot” categories in order of their likelihood of winning, and if their predictions come true, the coins they bet will increase by the corresponding multiplier. The number of coins is converted into points, and the guest with the most points at the end is declared the winner, but who will be able to earn the most points?

“Superhuman Derby” is full of unexpected twists and turns. The difference between winning and losing is “how you judge people,” but it will be interesting to see who the studio guests bet on and how they bet on them.

Cast comments
■ Hidetsugu Shibata (The Untouchables)
It was a lot of fun. The content of the competition was interesting too (laughs). I want people to watch Chojin too, but you can get a good idea of our personalities from the way we bet, so I think it would be fun if you could watch that as well. I would love for everyone to try it at home too.

■ Kanda Aika
It got more heated than I thought it would! When I sat here, I felt like I didn’t want to lose, so I guess my true nature came out (laughs). I was able to play with a really passionate attitude right until the end.
The “Sports Lottery Big Winning Derby” was a very exciting event with a high level of competition.
I hope all the viewers will watch and bet with us! Please check it out!

■K (&TEAM)
I was especially impressed by Shohei Urakawa in “Dance Karaoke Derby”! Through this program, I was able to learn about the various sides of the superhumans. All of the competitions are really high-level, so please check them out!

■FUMA (&TEAM)
I was very impressed by the “Dance Karaoke Derby”. Everyone was so amazing, so I thought that we should try harder. We can’t lose as our main job!

■Saka Okada
It was fun to predict the results, but each performance was really entertaining! However, I thought that if I were to be called as a contestant and had to stand there, it would be a lot of pressure, and I found myself feeling a knot in my stomach (laughs).

■ Manoko Hibi, TBS announcer
Of course each of the superheroes was interesting, but the bets from everyone in the studio were so serious that it was so much fun to hear the reasons behind it (laughs). This is the point!
You can see the superhumans’ seriousness, and the BETs’ seriousness in the studio! It’s a gripping story that you never know what’s going to happen until the very end, so please be sure to check it out!
