Mrs. GREEN APPLE will appear on the MBS/TBS program “Sunday First Time Hearing” on September 15th.

Mrs. GREEN APPLE will appear in the popular “Interviewer Hayashi Osamu” project, where MC Hayashi Osamu confronts the “charismatic figures of the times.” In this interview, they will look back on their journey from the band’s formation to the present, and discuss the secrets of songwriting, their spectacular live performances that go beyond the boundaries of the band, and the way of thinking that they value when working.

All of their songs, which have produced many popular songs such as the 2023 Record Award winning song “Que Sera Sera”, “Dance Hall” which was performed at the “Kohaku Uta Gassen”, and “Ao to Natsu” which represents the summer song of the Reiwa era, are written and composed by Motoki Omori (Vo & Gu). Omori, who cannot read or write sheet music, sends the audio data of the songs he has created alone to Koto Wakai (Gu) and Suzuka Fujisawa (Key), and the two of them copy the audio by ear and play it to give shape to the songs, revealing their unique way of making songs.

When talking about the famous song “Boku no Koto,” which was written as the theme song for the 97th All Japan High School Soccer Championship and has now become a standard school chorus song, the thoughts put into the lyrics as a cheering song were discussed. A comment was also received from Yuki Ishikawa, captain of the Japanese national volleyball team, who confessed that he had been encouraged by Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s songs since he was a university student. He also said that he used to listen to “Boku no Koto” to fuel his fighting spirit during the Olympics. Upon hearing this, Omori was so moved that he said, “I almost cried…”

Furthermore, looking back on that time, they suddenly went on hiatus in 2020 when they were at the height of their popularity, having embarked on their first arena tour, because they had been exposing everything and taking on a lot of work, and because they felt a “fear of being consumed,” and because it was a period for the members to gain input… and they reveal the surprising lifestyle they led during their hiatus.

Two years after going on hiatus, Mrs. GREEN APPLE restarted their activities after being offered to write a song for the movie “ONE PIECE FILM RED.” Commenting on the lyrics of the song they wrote, “I’m the Strongest,” they said, “I think it’s about who we were (at that time).”

Mrs. GREEN APPLE continues to take on new challenges, such as captivating audiences with unprecedented performances in their live tour “The White Lounge,” which incorporates authentic musical theater methods, in which the members not only sing and play instruments but also act and dance. Finally, they talk about the idea that they value most in their work.
