YOASOBI’s live performance at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen at the end of 2020 shocked viewers and drew rave reviews for their high level of performance. Starting from there, YOASOBI performed on music programs in 2021, and in February they held live broadcasts without an audience from the construction site of the former Milanoza building in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and in July they held live broadcasts from the office of an apparel company as part of a collaboration project with the company, attracting attention. What everyone felt through these live performances was a band performance that reproduced the world of the carefully constructed original sound source with even more power. And the amazing vocal ability of ikura, who took the reproduction level to the ultimate level, also attracted attention.
WOWOW will be preparing a special program consisting of carefully selected live footage from the two live streams and interviews with the band themselves, looking back on their activities.

YOASOBI was formed in 2019 as a unit that turns novels into music, originating from the novel and illustration posting site “monogatary.com.” They released songs via video distribution, and their song “Racing into the Night” topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100 without waiting for a release on packaged media. They gained a fan base with their success as poster children of the social media era, and became known throughout Japan after appearing on the “NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen” at the end of 2020.
Composer Ayase’s lyrics incorporate the story of the novel, and the digital-based, innovative yet pop sound. ikura’s rare vocal sense allows her to freely express such a complex song, as if swimming between the waves. With these two major pillars, YOASOBI held live-streamed concerts without an audience in February and July 2021, making it clear that they also have outstanding potential in live performances.
On December 4th and 5th of that year, they held their first live concert with an audience at the Nippon Budokan. The performance came just after the release of their second EP, “THE BOOK 2,” so don’t miss this performance where they showcased a wider range of their work than ever before.
