RIIZE and Peanuts-kun will be appearing on NHK Educational TV’s “Numa ni Hamatte Kitemita” on September 21st.

This program is a variety show that covers the world (= the swamp) that teenagers are deeply addicted to, and explores the true faces and philosophies of teenagers (= those who are addicted) who are trying to pursue what they love to the fullest.

This time, we will feature two artists that teenagers are obsessed with. First up is RIIZE, the fifth generation global boy band from K-POP, which is currently the most popular. Their debut single “Get A Guitar,” released in September 2023, sold 1.01 million copies in one week, despite being a newcomer. They are a popular artist around the world, having been selected by American music media as one of the “25 Artists to Watch in 2024.”

The other group is Peanuts-kun, a VTuber who also works as a rapper. He wears a yellow Peanuts-themed costume and delivers hot, addictive raps, which have made him increasingly popular.

Peanuts-kun’s “Katana Pee Christmas,” which he releases every Christmas, has gone viral on social media, and he has become a hot topic in the music scene. In 2022, he will make his first appearance at Japan’s largest hip-hop event, POP YOURS, and is gaining support as a unique presence.

The biggest attraction of RIIZE, which has teenagers hooked, is their “performances.” This time, they announced a “Songs with the Most Amazing Performances” ranking based on a survey on the show, and the members will teach the choreography for the number one song, “Siren.”

The program will also feature the dance club students of Nagano Prefecture’s Inakita High School, who are crazy about RIIZE, as they perfectly copy the dance at their school, which is surrounded by stunning scenery. There will also be a Q&A corner for viewers to get a glimpse into the real faces of the members.

On the other hand, when talking to teenagers who are obsessed with Peanuts-kun, the biggest attraction is the “characters.” In this program, we closely interview teenagers who are obsessed with making “pilgrimages” to the places that appear in Peanuts-kun’s videos.

In addition, the program will take viewers behind the scenes of his solo live show, revealing for the first time the rehearsals in which he personally directs the stage, as well as the unknown aspects of what it’s like to spend time in the dressing room.

Also in the studio, RIIZE will perform their Japanese debut song “Lucky,” and Peanuts-kun will perform “Yellow Big Header.”
