The final episode of the drama “Aoshima-kun is mean,” starring Shota Watanabe and Anne Nakamura, has aired! “Let’s have fun and get excited about the final episode!!” (Watanabe)

■Kikuchi Fuma, who stars in the October drama “The Reason We Fall in Love,” will also appear on Oshidora Saturday!

The final episode of the Nippon Television drama series “Aoshima-kun is mean,” starring Shota Watanabe (Snow Man) and Anne Nakamura, will air on September 14th.

■ “#SurpriseKiss” “#BothHandsWallDon” and other cute moments are jammed with “Kyon Calories are High!”
In the eighth episode, which aired on September 7th, Yukino (Nakamura), who has been asked by Aoshima (Watanabe) to live with her, is shown sharing the worries that are unique to a 35-year-old woman with her best friend and colleague, Suzuki Takako (Kobayashi Ryoko).

Yukino lacks the courage to take a step forward into a future with no clear goal, saying, “If I were younger, I might have taken the plunge,” and “When I think about what would happen if there was nothing ahead of me…” Takako, who is married, is also thinking about having children at an age where she cannot fully enjoy the opportunity to advance her career. Many viewers sympathized with the couple’s real feelings, saying, “I understand their feelings so well, it hurts my heart.”

Furthermore, Aoshima’s real mother, Kumi Sakamoto (Kimura Tae), suddenly appears at Yukino’s house and confronts her, saying, “I want you to break up with Mizuki,” and “I don’t want to marry you. Are you still prepared to be with me?” She then storms into Aoshima’s house and tries to get him to take over the company. This “#SuddenlyMom” attack has resulted in many comments expressing concern for the future of the couple’s love with the family standing in their way, such as “Kumi is quite tough,” “The pressure from her real mother!” and “My mother was scary. I hope she doesn’t hurt her.”

Amidst all of this, what attracted even more attention in episode 8 were the many heart-pounding attacks that Aoshima unleashed.

On the company rooftop, after holding hands as lovers and sharing a “#surprise kiss,” he had the ladies all in a frenzy with comments like, “This surprise was perfect,” and “This one was really cute for me!” But then, worried about Yukino, who seemed to be troubled by something, he goes “#handson-the-wall” in the company conference room!

This series has been full of heart-pounding scenes in every episode, but the long-awaited kabedon finally appeared in episode 8, and viewers were thrilled with the scene, with comments such as, “Aoshima’s kabedon and Yukino’s hug were both awesome,” “It was so awesome, so awesome,” and “Aaaahhh, the kabedon!”

However, in a complete reversal from their amusement park date, where they ride thrilling rides together and take photos, and where the happy aura of the two of them is warm and cozy, the final scene makes us realize the meaning of the subtitle “#LastDate,” as Aoshima says goodbye to Yukino, saying, “I’m no longer able to see you, Yukino.”

■Tonight is the fateful final episode! What outcome will Aoshima and Yukino choose?
A true love story that began with a small lie between Aoshima, a 26-year-old fasting boyfriend, and Yukino, a 35-year-old dried fish girl.

Yukino is more hurt than she could have imagined when Aoshima says he “isn’t thinking about marriage,” but she realizes that he is serious about her and realizes a simple but very important thing: “If the two of us can be together, that alone will make me happy.”

Aoshima and Yukino reaffirm their feelings for each other and are filled with happiness when Kumi, Aoshima’s real mother and a businesswoman, shows up. Kumi wants Aoshima to take over her company, but she believes that Yukino is to blame for his refusal to accept the relationship, and plots to break up the two.

Yukino is troubled by the obstacle that stands in her way due to her mother, but to make matters worse, on the way home from a fun date to the amusement park, Aoshima breaks up with her.

The love between Aoshima and Yukino has received a lot of love and support from many people. What ending will they choose? Will they be able to see each other happily? The fateful final episode begins tonight.

Ahead of the final episode, the two leading actors commented, “I’m really happy that everyone has enjoyed and supported Aoshima-kun so much since the first broadcast until today! Let’s have fun together and get excited about the final episode!” (Watanabe), and “I’m sure everyone is curious about what path the two of them will choose to take…what they will do, so I hope you will watch.” (Nakamura).

And in the final episode, Kikuchi Fuma (timelesz), who will be starring in the October drama “The Reason We Fall in Love,” will appear. Also look out for the scenes where Kikuchi and Watanabe, the two best friends, appear together.

■ Comment from Shota Watanabe (role of Mizuki Aoshima)
Hello, this is Watanabe Shota from Aoshima-kun!
Today is the last episode of Aoshima-kun is Mean. I’m very sad.
However, I am so happy that you have all been so supportive and entertained about Aoshima-kun from the first broadcast right up to today!
It was a wonderful summer memory for me!
I would be happy if everyone felt the same way.
The theme song “You Are Boku no Mono” is also a song I love and it matches the drama perfectly!
Everyone, let’s have fun and get excited together for the final episode!

■Comment from Anne Nakamura (role of Yukino Katsuragi)
Thank you for reading this far, I hope you’ve really enjoyed it.
I think everyone is curious to know what will happen in the end, including the issues Aoshima-kun is facing with his mother and what path the two of them will choose to take…so I hope you will watch it.
