XG's "WOKE UP" remix to be released! Jay Park, Awich and 8 other Japanese and Korean rappers will be participating

It has been announced that XG will release “WOKE UP REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS)” on September 20th.

XG recently announced the title of their second mini album, “AWE,” to be released on November 8th. Fans were delighted when the track list for the mini album, which was partially released on the same day, included the notation “WOKE UP REMIXX,” and now the release has been confirmed.

XG surprised the world with their unconventional style and music consisting of all rap songs along with their strong hip-hop identity with “WOKE UP” released in May. The song was ranked on the Billboard Japan comprehensive chart “Hot 100” for eight consecutive weeks, and also topped the Global Japan Songs chart “Global Japan songs Excl. Japan” for nine consecutive weeks. The music video also ranked in 19 countries and regions on YouTube’s trending chart, including the number one spot in the United States, making it a viral hit around the world.

The release of “WOKE UP REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS)” has been newly planned and produced by JAKOPS (Executive Producer/CEO of XGALX, the label to which SIMON JUNHO PARK/XG belongs), a mix of Japanese and Korean artists born in Seattle, USA. While retaining the identity of the original song, the song is packed with an even more evolved charm, and with the participation of eight rappers who represent Japanese and Korean hip-hop, Jay Park, OZworld, AKLO, Paloalto, VERBAL (m-flo), Awich, Tak, and Dok2, diverse cultures are fused together, creating a synergy effect that is different from the original song.

The “WOKE UP” remix also attracted attention when JAKOPS played it as a DJ himself during XG’s first world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR “The first HOWL” which is currently underway.
