Mariya Takeuchi appears on the cover of the special edition of “anan” for the first time to commemorate her 45th debut anniversary

■Comments from Mitsuki Takahata, Night Tempo, and Jiro (Sissonne) have also arrived.

Mariya Takeuchi will appear for the first time on the cover of the special edition of “anan”, which will be released on September 25th.

The “Power of Words” feature of “anan” considers the power of words, such as how words are handled and dealt with in different eras, and famous quotes and works that catch one’s attention. This year, singer-songwriter Mariya Takeuchi was featured on the cover of the special edition commemorating her 45th anniversary of her debut, and a 14-page feature inside was created.

Takeuchi has created a heart-throbbing worldview through his many years of activity, and has written many wonderful songs. This book delivers a condensed version of the charm of the world through precious new photos and interviews.

The shoot took place in Kudanshita, where the Nippon Budokan stands, where Takeuchi has held several live shows and where she has fond memories with her fans, making use of the classical building. Takeuchi was highlighted from three perspectives, and the shoot was set up in situations that suited these themes. The first was “Songs born from the preciousness of everyday life,” the second was “Mariya Takeuchi and the distance between words,” and the third was “Celebrating her 45th debut anniversary.”

In a scene where the light reflects her tanned skin, she is seen smiling in an elegant black dress. The blue jacket chosen for the cover is like a scene from an afternoon cafe. The casual knit style is enveloped in a nostalgic light and exudes a familiar atmosphere. This special gravure captures Takeuchi’s personality and the songs that are loved by many people in Japan and around the world.

One of the major highlights of this special feature is, of course, the precious message delivered by Takeuchi. He talks extensively about his thoughts on the “power of words,” including what he keeps in mind when writing lyrics and how he keeps a distance from words, his new album, and what has happened so far and what lies ahead in the 45th anniversary year. The answers he gives to every question are sincere. While producing many timeless masterpieces, he has always kept in tune with the times, and above all, he has always enjoyed music and everyday life.

This issue also includes comments from three famous people who have a connection with Takeuchi: Mitsuki Takahata, Night Tempo, and Jiro (Sissonne). They talk about what they feel is the charm of Takeuchi, and their favorite songs and lyrics.

The cover of the regular edition will feature Snow Man’s Watanabe Shota and SixTONES’ Morimoto Shintaro.
