■ “I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of beauty” (YOSHIKI)
YOSHIKI’s high fashion brand, MAISON YOSHIKI PARIS, which unveiled its 2024/2025 Fall/Winter collection at the brand’s first-ever runway show at Milan Fashion Week in February, will make its debut at Paris Fashion Week in September, during which it will present its 2025 Spring/Summer collection at a runway show.
The previous show was held in Milan, a city that is a source of inspiration for its architecture, culture, and music. In addition to runway looks, YOSHIKI performed live on the piano and a new original song, elevating the show to a spectacular production with grandiose staging.
The Milan show ended with great success, with the runway looks receiving high praise for their silhouette patterns and detailed, structured designs, as well as the carefully handmade accessories, such as sneakers and jewelry in collaboration with “Grounds.”
YOSHIKI is the first and only Japanese artist in nearly 100 years to receive the honor of signing hand and footprints at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. His edgy androgynous style, which began with his band X JAPAN, revolutionized the Asian entertainment industry in terms of makeup and fashion, influencing artists across decades, including today’s top K-POP stars. At the 2023 MAMA Awards, the world’s top K-POP awards ceremony, YOSHIKI was the first Japanese artist to be named “Favorite International Artist.”
Now that designer YOSHIKI has established his solid style with his debut collection, he will move to Paris in September where he will unveil his second season’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection of 40 looks at the Palais de Chaillot.
YOSHIKI commented, “I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of beauty. I want to breathe new life into the existing fashion industry. I have the utmost respect for the designers currently active at the forefront of the fashion industry. My personal involvement with fashion began when I was a child. My father ran a high-end kimono business, so I was always surrounded by textiles, craftsmanship and true elegance. I have also always been interested in international avant-garde fashion. I have followed the collections of my favorite designers such as Dior, Celine and Alexander McQueen, as well as the collections of other designers that I liked and wore.”
In addition to his involvement with MAISON YOSHIKI PARIS, YOSHIKI has expanded his horizons in many areas, collaborating with French crystal manufacturer Baccarat and announcing a new collection of crystal stemware. YOSHIKI’s collaboration with Baccarat began when he was selected as one of the designers to commemorate Baccarat’s 180th anniversary in 2021. This project is connected to YOSHIKI’s creation of Y by YOSHIKI wine with the Mondavi family in Napa, California, and his own premier champagne brand with the renowned French maison POMMERY.
