■ What Masahiro Matsuoka values is “staying true to yourself and responding flexibly.”
TOKIO’s Matsuoka Masahiro and Dean Fujioka attended the opening ceremony event of the Giorgio Armani Omotesando store.
Matsuoka appeared in a chic outfit of a black suit, hat and glasses. He talked about his connection with the brand, such as how the first tuxedo he wore at the age of 19 was custom-made by Armani, and how he often buys gifts from Armani.
When asked about the keen aesthetic sense he has cultivated through his wide-ranging activities and the high level of professionalism he values, he replied, “I think it’s important to be flexible and adapt to the person I’m interacting with. However, I don’t bend to my core. When I play as a performance, I bring out my originality, but when I’m working with companies or people, I try to be objective and consciously act from that person’s point of view. Nothing will get done unless I express myself, but don’t express myself too much either. As I gain more experience, I think it’s better to do things than not at all. Balance is important.”
■ Dean Fujioka appeared in a black outfit
Dean appeared stylishly dressed in a long black coat. When asked about the key points of his outfit, he commented, “The material of the clothes I’m wearing today is very soft and comfortable. But it’s not just soft, it’s also designed, cut, and silhouetted to accentuate the wearer’s bone structure and the essence of the person. I think that’s very elegant.”
Dean also posted three photos on his Instagram, writing about the Giorgio Armani Omotesando store, “It was a tasteful space where you could feel the culture and tradition of Japan.”
Other guests at the event were a diverse array of unique individuals, including Mori Izumi and her pet dog COCO, Matayoshi Naoki, professional basketball player Togashi Yuki, wrestler Higuchi Rei, and table tennis player Hirano Miu.
