■Saito Kazuyoshi talks about the thoughts he put into the lyrics of his classic song “I’ve Always Loved You”!
“Warui Ko Atsumare” (NHK General TV) is a new educational variety show with regular appearances by Inagaki Goro, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (the official spelling of “nagi” is “nagi” is the character for bow with “mae” and “sword”), and Katori Shingo.
On the October 1st broadcast, musician Kazuyoshi Saito will make his first appearance on the Nippon Kayo Choir. Together with the children, he will talk about the feelings behind the lyrics of the classic song “I’ve Always Loved You.”
Saito will answer a number of simple questions about the lyrics, such as “Why does the 16-year-old come back to life? Isn’t 12 years old enough?”, “Why do they repeat ‘daze’ in the chorus?”, and “What happened to the two of them after this?”. Kusanagi, who is a big fan, is also excited by this precious talk.
Also, in the popular corner “Shingo Mama’s Room,” which invites historical figures, Tsuda Umeko, played by Kondo Haruna, appears as a guest. Tsuda is known as a pioneer in women’s education in Japan, but since she went to the United States at the age of six as Japan’s first female student abroad, her life has been full of ups and downs. She talks about how she founded the Joshi Eigaku Juku (now Tsuda University), and her vitality-filled life story. Shingo Mama (Katori) is also constantly surprised by the many big names that come up in the conversation!
“Yonekin ch” features a senior YouTuber who “loves magic and gags.” He teaches magic in a fun way, weaving in gags that would put even Yonekin (Inagaki) to shame.
