Ikimonogakari’s new song “Dramatic Come On” has been chosen as the theme song for the new drama “Little Women – Sisters in Love and Me Who Doesn’t Fall in Love”

■ “May each and every person experience something wonderful and dramatic that is unique to them.” (Ikimonogakari)

Ikimonogakari’s new song “Dramatic Come On” has been chosen as the theme song for the new Sunday drama “Little Women – Sisters in Love and Me Who Doesn’t Love” which will air on Nippon Television in October 2024.

The drama “Little Women – Sisters in Love and Me Who Doesn’t Love” is based on the immortal best-selling novel “Little Women” by American author Louisa May Alcott. Based on the idea of ”what if those four sisters were alive in Reiwa Japan…”, it is a socially conscious sisterhood comedy that is boldly set in the present day.

The four Machida sisters who are at the center of the story are played by Mayu Hotta (second daughter), Sawa Nimura (eldest daughter), Megumi Hata (fourth daughter), and Neru Nagahama (third daughter).

Is love really necessary for happiness in the year 2024? The earnest eldest daughter, the reckless second daughter, the easygoing third daughter, and the shrewd fourth daughter. What is the true happiness of these lovable women struggling to survive in this era?

“Dramatic Come On,” written specifically for this drama, was released on the first broadcast on October 6. Not only is it a catchy melody that you won’t forget once you’ve heard it, and an exhilarating singing voice, but the lyrics are also noteworthy as they link with the reckless way of life of the main character, Ryo, played by Mayu Hotta.

■Comment from Ikimonogakari (Kiyoe Yoshioka and Yoshiki Mizuno)
In a world overflowing with stories, how can we write our own stories, which should be the most important thing? It’s not easy to find the answer. Where should we start? How should we face the headwinds? I think there are many people watching TV who see themselves in the struggles of the protagonist in this story and cheer him on. I hope that everyone will have a wonderful, dramatic experience that is unique to them.

■ Comment from Mayu Hotta
Ikimonogakari’s music has been an important part of me since I was a student, so when I heard that they would be providing music for the drama, I felt very happy.
At the same time, I was looking forward to it, letting my imagination run wild as I wondered what kind of song it would be. The lyrics overlap with the characters who live life to the fullest, and I feel a positive energy from the strength of their affirmation that no matter what appearance they have, they are still me.
The light-hearted melody that you’ll find yourself humming before you know it expands the worldview of the work even further, and it looks like it will be possible to deliver a dramatic story to everyone ♡
