[Live Report]Awich & XG, surprise collaboration at Japan’s biggest hip hop festival “THE HOPE”



■Awich will perform a remix of XG’s song “WOKE UP” with XG’s JURIN, HARVEY, MAYA, and COCONA.

A surprise collaboration between Awich and XG took place at “THE HOPE,” Japan’s largest hip hop festival, which was held on September 21st and 22nd at a special outdoor stage in Odaiba, Tokyo.

The headliner on the second day was Awich, a leader in the Japanese hip-hop scene. They performed a total of nine songs, including their latest song “Are you serious?”, which is also the theme song for the Netflix series “Very Evil Queen” starring Yuriyan Retriever.

NENE, LANA, MaRI, and AI appeared as guests for “Bad Bitch Aesthetics Remix,” OZworld for “RASEN in OKINAWA,” and JP THE WAVY for “GILA GILA,” and they thrilled the audience with their spectacular live performances.

In addition, XG members JURIN, HARVEY, MAYA, and COCONA made a surprise appearance to perform the remix of XG’s song “WOKE UP REMIXX (PROD BY JAKOPS) (FEAT. Jay Park, OZworld, AKLO, Paloalto, VERBAL, Awich, Tak, Dok2)” with Awich, which became a hot topic with Awich’s participation and went viral around the world, including reaching number one on the US YouTube Trending Chart.

The audience was thrilled by the collaborative performance, which transcended context, by these two artists who represent the Japanese scene on a global scale.

A total of 58 artists and 29 DJs performed at the festival over the two days, captivating the audience.
