A new song written by Ado and Ayase, “Episode X”, will be the theme song for the movie “Doctor X”

■ “I’ve been posting covers of Ayase’s songs for a while now, so I’m happy to be able to collaborate with him for the first time on ‘Episode X.'” (Ado)

Ado’s new song “Episode X” has been chosen as the theme song for the movie “Doctor X: The Movie,” which will be released on December 6th.

The theme song “Episode X” written by Ayase has a fast-paced melody, and is an impressive song that overlaps with the image of Michiko Daimon facing many crises. Ayase’s songwriting skills shine, and Ado’s singing, which has been elevated to the next level, resonates passionately as if in response.

“Doctor X” is the movie version of the TV Asahi drama series “Doctor X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon”, which has been broadcast on TV Asahi for seven series since October 2012. This long-awaited film adaptation of the monumental national medical drama that has been popular for many years is finally here. Ado is in charge of the theme song for the seventh series, “Asura-chan”.

Along with the movie “Doctor X: The Movie,” be sure to check out the Ado x Ayase collaboration.

■Ado Comment
I am really happy to be in charge of the theme song for this movie, following the drama. Thank you very much.
I hope you will also pay attention to how my singing has improved since the last drama theme song, “Asura-chan.”
And the song this time was written by Ayase himself.
I’ve been posting covers of Ayase’s songs for some time now, so I’m happy to be able to collaborate for the first time on “Episode X.”

■Ayase’s comment
I have provided Ado with a song called “Episode X.”
During the production process, I also watched the film “Doctor X: The Movie.” The more I learned about Daimon Michiko’s background and thoughts, the more I couldn’t help but feel that there were some similarities between her and Ado, so I wrote the lyrics and spun the music as if the two of them were overlapping. As a fellow musician who walks this path, I would like everyone to experience this exciting experience of Ado’s voice overlapping with the sounds I imagined, in the pure form of a song. Thank you.

■ Comment from Ryoko Yonekura (starring as Michiko Daimon)
Set within Ado’s unique worldview, the song also expresses how the lone wolf “Daimon Michiko” who forges her own path was born, and I felt it was a song that inspires strong will and courage.
There is also an aspect to the song that reminds me of the strong bond between Akira and Michiko, and when I listened to the lyrics and the music together, it really made my heart well up.
I am very happy to realize that Ayase created this song especially for Doctor X, and that he cared deeply about the world of the work.
