■ “When I first heard the theme song ‘FOREVER’, I was moved by how cool it was!” (Shuri)
Chanmina’s new song “FOREVER” has been chosen as the theme song for the Kansai TV/Fuji TV Monday 10pm drama “Monster,” which begins on October 14th.
The drama “Monster” is a unique legal entertainment in which Shuri plays the mysterious monster lawyer Ryoko Kanami, who is not bound by “common sense” and faces her opponents by “eliminating emotions”, facing various problems unique to the Reiwa era where the law sometimes has not kept up, and taking on court battles as if they were a game.
Because he is an unconventional “monster” who can see into the essence of things and stir up trials with his own interpretations, he never misses the moment when humans become filled with malice for no reason and turn into “monsters,” and he calmly leads the case to a resolution, overturning and influencing the values of those around him.
Chanmina’s new song “FOREVER,” which adds luster to this legal drama that defies common sense, was written after reading the script and following meetings with the drama’s production team.
The song was produced by GRAY, a Korean artist/producer who also worked on the track “RED” from Chanmina’s fourth full-length album, “Naked.” The song showcases Chanmina’s charm as she sings powerful high notes to a powerful punk rock arrangement.
Along with the release of information about the theme song, the drama’s main footage will be released on the official KTV (Kansai TV) YouTube channel and various SNS accounts from September 26th. Along with footage focusing on the main actress Shuri, a special excerpt from the theme song “FOREVER” has also been released.
Information about the song’s release will be announced at a later date.
■ Comment from Shuri
I’ve always liked Chanmina-san and have been a fan of hers, so I was very happy when I heard that she would be singing the theme song. When I first heard the theme song for the drama, “FOREVER,” I thought it perfectly expressed the “uneasy feeling” of “Monster,” the “gray area” that is neither black nor white, and the “hope” that exists within it. It also had a real “Chanmina-san feel to it,” and I was moved by how cool it was! I’m looking forward to hearing this song along with the drama.
