Q. How do you feel after filming the new TV commercial for “Carre de Chocolat”?
Even when I’m filming a drama, when I feel a little tired, I pop a “carre de chocolat” into my mouth, add some sugar, add some cacao, and pop it! Something like this happens, but even during today’s shoot, I was given “carre de chocolat” at just the right time (during the shoot), so I was able to (always) keep it crisp while shooting.
Q.What has happened in your daily life that made you feel happy recently?
The other day, I tried taking a serious nap. I was extremely happy. This year, I had a lot of opportunities to appear in dramas, and on set, I talked with my co-stars about how if you eat a lot of carbohydrates at lunch, your blood sugar levels will rise and you’ll feel sleepy in the afternoon. That’s why there were quite a few of my co-stars who didn’t eat a big meal for lunch. So, I thought that if I ate a lot of carbohydrates at noon on my day off, I might get the best nap (on the contrary). I was able to take the best “nap” on the afternoon of my day off, when I ate a lot of pasta and rice bowls for lunch. I was able to get a deep sleep. I was happy.
Q.What is Sakurai-san’s particularity that rivals the particularity of “Carre de Chocolat”?
Pajamas, right? When you think about the amount of time we spend sleeping in a day, there’s a considerable amount of time spent sleeping. That’s why I thought it would be better to be particular about the pajamas I wore, so I saw some pajamas on the street that said to help you recover while you sleep, so I bought them. Then, when I got home and opened the cardboard box containing my summer pajamas in my closet, I found three pajamas of almost the same color. The new pajamas I bought have a (recovery) function, so it’s good to be particular about them, but people’s tastes don’t seem to change, so I ended up with four of the same color and shape.
