Off-shots of Akina Nakamori’s recording released on NHK’s “The Covers Special Akina Nakamori Night!”

“The Covers Special Akina Nakamori Night!” will be broadcast on NHK General on October 3rd. A new highlight has been announced.

The narrator of the program is Masahiro Motoki, who debuted at the same time as Akina in 1982. Motoki, who has shown great performances in numerous works as an actor, will add color to the charm of Akina, who has been with him through the same era, with his voice.

In Akina Nakamori’s “real voice message,” she speaks in a soft tone of voice about her thoughts on “singing and continuing singing” and “now and in the future.” Along with the comments, unreleased close-up photos from the recording session will also be delivered.

The lineup of “Akina Nakamori Masterpiece Cover Collection”, which was unveiled in “The Covers” 2011, has also been announced. Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Drive, who have a surprising connection to Akina’s work, performed the famous song “Kita Wing” by Kochinka & Tetsushi Hayashi, who wrote many of their songs. Koji Miyamoto will perform Yosui Inoue’s hit song “Kazari janai no yo tears”, and JUJU will perform “DESIRE”, a masterpiece filled with the charm of Akina’s musical world and styling.

In the “NHK Archives” section, which explores Akina Nakamori’s famous songs that have been sung from generation to generation and their charm, Mitz Mangrove, a huge fan of Akina in the music world, will serve as the navigator. From his debut song “Slow Motion” to his early masterpieces, “Mi Amore,” “DESIRE,” “SAND BEIGE,” “BLONDE,” and “Shunken Ship,” songs from “NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen” and “Let’s Go.” Based on videos such as “Young”, we will deliver the charm of Akina’s musical world, costumes, makeup, choreography, etc., which led the era.

Covers guests are Hiromi Go and GLIM SPANKY. Hiromi Go, the King of J-POP who has been through the same era as Akina since her debut in 1972, covered Akina’s biggest hit number, “Second Love.” He passionately talks about the charm he felt towards Akina at the time and his thoughts on this song.

GLIM SPANKY, a rock unit celebrating its 10th anniversary since its debut, will perform the masterpiece “1/2 Myth”, which is packed with both the “innocent route” and the “pure route” of Akina’s early works, with a tight band sound.

In addition, Reiwa songstress Ado talks about her respect for her origins, Akina Nakamori, and the influences she has had as a singer.

A special project to permanently preserve Akina Nakamori’s famous songs that have been sung for generations, with a focus on covers. Let’s thoroughly enjoy the singing world of Akina Nakamori, who continues to shine and be loved throughout the ages.
