■The main video of the movie “Chacha” starring Marika Ito has been released!
The movie “Cha Cha”, starring Marika Ito and directed and written by Mai Sakai, will be released nationwide from October 11th at Shinjuku Piccadilly and other theaters, jointly distributed by Metele and Culture Publishers. Recently, we have received a rave comment from Yusei Yagi (FANTASTICS), who appeared in Mai Sakai’s masterpiece “Beautiful Kanojo” series.
This work “Cha Cha” is a project called “(not) HEROINE movies” in which an up-and-coming actress and a next-generation director team up to film “heroines who live clumsily but hard in the present” from their respective perspectives. =The fourth release of Not Heroine Movies.
The director is Mai Sakai, the creator who has won the hearts of many fans with her “Beautiful Boyfriend” series and is currently attracting the most attention. This work is Sakai’s first completely original story in seven years. The leading actors are Marika Ito, who has demonstrated a unique presence in a wide range of fields as a talented actor, and Nakagawa, who continues to appear in notable works, as Raku, the character whom Marika Ito’s Chacha falls in love with. Performed by Taishi.
Yusei Yagi (FANTASTICS), who starred as the overwhelmingly charismatic Kanade Kiyoi in Mai Sakai’s masterpiece “Beautiful Kanojo” series, was the first to watch this film. “This work made me realize once again that I like the content of the story and the beautiful colors and worldview drawn by Mr. Sakai.Chacha, whose motto is to live as she pleases, meets a person whose personality is completely opposite to hers. In terms of being strongly attracted to people, I also find myself attracted to and interested in people of a different type than myself when I interact with people, so I really empathized with Cha Cha itself.”

The main character, Chacha, is an illustrator who works at a design office. Although his free-spirited behavior sometimes causes resentment from those around him, he spends his days living his life as he pleases without worrying about what others think of him. Chacha happens to meet a mysterious young man, Raku, on the rooftop and becomes interested in him.
The released main video depicts the sweet time the two spend together at Raku’s house. Chacha visits Raku’s house for the first time. From the way Raku makes Chacha’s home-cooked meal, to the way Raku lights Chacha’s cigarette, they seem to be a perfect couple. This scene, in which the happy couple is captured in slow motion with warm background music that seems to be celebrating the couple, is beautiful and somehow magical, giving the impression that this happiness will not last long. After being treated to some home-cooked food, Chacha begins to stay at his house. As Chacha spends time together, she gradually becomes attracted to Raku, but Raku harbors a secret…!?
Chacha, a stray cat type girl, and Raku, a mysterious girl with a secret. A bizarro love story is born in which the sweetness of unrequited love and the dangerous desire that cannot be told to anyone coexist in a unique beauty. Let’s watch the unpredictable end of the love story between two people that doesn’t end in a love story at the theater.

This work made me realize once again that I like the content of the story and the beautiful colors and world feel that Mr. Sakai draws.
The delicate acting of the cast members was wonderful, and there were many scenes with facial expressions that really touched me personally.
Chacha, whose motto is to live the way you want, meets someone with a personality that is completely opposite to hers and becomes strongly attracted to her.When I interact with people, I am also attracted to and interested in people of a different type than myself. Sometimes I felt a sense of humor, and I could really relate to Cha Cha itself.
This is a work that I would like many people to see on the big screen in theaters!
