YOSHIKI’s neck surgery was successfully completed on October 8th local time at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California.

This was his third surgery, and like the previous one, it involved inserting an artificial disc into his cervical vertebrae. In addition to chronic pain in his neck, YOSHIKI was also suffering from a burning sensation in the fingers of his left hand, a condition that was interfering with not only his performance but also his daily life.

Dr. Todd Lanman, a spinal neurosurgeon who was part of the American team of doctors and who performed the surgery, predicts that YOSHIKI’s symptoms will gradually recover over the next year after surgery on the C6-C7 cervical vertebrae. I am doing it.
YOSHIKI is currently unable to speak, but his voice is expected to recover in a few days.

YOSHIKI has also undergone neck surgery in the past. In 2009, she was diagnosed with cervical foraminal stenosis and underwent cervical laminectomy and cervical foraminectomy. Then, in 2017, he underwent a second surgery due to a herniated disc and extreme numbness in his left hand and arm, and an artificial disc was inserted in his cervical spine.

The timing for YOSHIKI to resume live performances will be determined after consulting with his doctor, but for the time being, his schedule will prioritize his recovery.

A few months ago, several prominent doctors decided that YOSHIKI would need emergency surgery, but YOSHIKI performed 13 dinner shows, visited the eSports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, and Appearing on a major charity special program, giving a speech on AI in San Francisco, and performing on the piano at the GLOBAL CITIZEN AWARD in New York. He underwent this surgery after completing important projects such as the debut of his own high fashion brand MAISON YOSHIKI PARIS at Paris Fashion Week.
