Facing the feelings that have been kept quiet in the back of your mind is
I think everyone experiences pain.
I performed Hyakuka while looking at my own personal struggles with trying to move forward.
I would be happy if you could see this as a story of rebirth, like the sun rising again in the morning.■Masatoshi Nakamura comment
He is a fisherman who lives with his daughter Momoka, played by Mao Inoue, in the town of Minamisanriku, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Momoka finds someone she loves, and her kind father spends his days supporting her, even though he is confused.
I intended to speak a perfect native Miyagi dialect, but despite being from Miyagi, I ended up acting in a dialect that left me with some regrets. introspection! ! ! That’s the kind of guy he is.■Ken Miyake comment
During the filming, I stayed in Miyagi and Iwate for several weeks.
The pain that the people of Tohoku experienced,
As someone who was in Tokyo at the time, I don’t think I could understand it at all.
Through the role of Take, he uses the local language and receives local goods.
The atmosphere that can be felt from this land, and the depth of compassion that makes people completely defenseless once they accept it.
I acted to the best of my ability while taking a lot of showers.
Also, be sure to pay attention to the “hot friendship” that developed between our performers during filming!
I am grateful for being able to be a part of a work like this, and for the connections I have made with everyone I have been able to meet thanks to this work.■Takehara pistol comment
In the coastal towns of Iwate and Miyagi prefectures, which are the model for “Udahama Town,” there are several live houses that have been indebted to me during my musical activities, and there are many reliable masters. We have kind and helpful staff, and we have customers who warmly accompany us to our live performances.
We have a very enjoyable and enriching time every time.
I participated in the photo shoot while thinking of everyone’s faces like talismans at key points.
I was in charge of the role of “Ken”.
I would be happy if he was able to clearly express the deep attachment and sometimes obsession that he has for “Udahama Town” and his friends in Udahama. Attachment, sometimes obsession.
I was happy to be able to appear in this work because it gave me a chance to express my feelings.
I think each person has something they want to protect, something they have protected, and each has their own reasons for wanting to protect it and ways to protect it. Because of their differences, they sometimes cause friction, but I think it is a gentle and gentle work that allows you to feel the warmth that arises from that friction.
Thank you for the opportunity to appear.
Everyone, please take a look!■Koji Yamamoto comment
What can I do with this work? That is to fulfill the role of Yamashiro until the day of crank-up. I vowed to myself that this was an obvious thing to do and went into filming. What could I have done on the day of the screening? It doesn’t matter, it’s a heart-warming movie. Please watch it in theaters!■Masao Yoshii comment
I played Kosaku, who works at the town hall.
Ken, Take, Yamashiro, and Kosaku no Prayer Group members are so adorable as they work hard to rebuild from the earthquake amid the coronavirus pandemic and sincerely pray for Momoka’s happiness. And all the dishes that come out look delicious, and are actually ridiculously delicious!
When I see Mr. Suda, who plays Shinsaku, eating so much, I get really hungry. Please come and visit the movie theater!■Fumiyo Kohinata comment
On the way back from the shooting site, I was stunned by the beauty of the sunset over the Kesennuma sea as seen from the car.
The simplicity and strength of the people involved with the main character, who overcame the earthquake, were impressive, and this work made me feel anew a sense of love and emotion for the nature and people of this country, Japan.
The song that plays toward the end of the song, “Remember the Album of Memories,” will remain in my mind forever.
