King & Prince release concept album “Re:ERA” that depicts a single story through all songs

■A total of 16 characters for the number of recorded songs are newly drawn by member Kaito Takahashi.

King & Prince’s first concept album “Re:ERA” (pronounced: Ri-era) began distribution on October 14th.

This is King & Prince’s 6th original album, which celebrated its 6th anniversary on May 23rd of this year, and is their first concept album. It has also been decided that it will be released on CD on December 11th.

This album includes 16 songs, including new songs such as the title song “WOW” (pronounced: wow), “halfmoon”, “moooove!!”, “Aishikiki Koto”, and “MAGIC WORD”. A single story is depicted through all the songs, and member Kaito Takahashi has drawn all 16 characters for the number of songs included. The character “ARE-X” (pronounced: Alex), inspired by “WOW”, is depicted on the jacket photo of the regular edition.

The title song “WOW” is a collaborative song produced by Daichi Miura, music producers UTA, and Takahashi. The choreography is by Daichi Miura. The currently released promotional video “WOW” – “Re:ERA beginning” ver.- is a work that serves as the beginning of the story called “Re:ERA Project”, which is the core of the concept album.

At Nagase’s request, Ren Nagase’s solo song “Stain” was performed by Daigo Nishihata (Naniwa Danshi) and Yoshinori Masakado (Ae! group), who are from Kansai. Nishihata is in charge of the lyrics and chorus, and Masakado is in charge of guitar performance and chorus. The title “Stain” comes from April 3rd, the day the three first met, and the song is a song about the memories and strong friendship that took place from the time the three met to their respective debuts. The names of both groups are also sprinkled throughout the lyrics.

Kaito Takahashi’s solo song “POPSTAR in the KINGDOM” is a collaboration song with artist SKY-HI. The two deepened their friendship after co-starring on a certain program, and at Takahashi’s offer, SKY-HI wrote the lyrics and composed the song. The track is based on hip-hop and is filled with Takahashi’s rhymes.
