Partial release of BABYMONSTER’s first unit song “Woke Up In Tokyo (RUKA&ASA)”

■Get addictive with clever wordplay! RUKA and ASA also participated in writing the lyrics.

A portion of BABYMONSTER’s first unit song “Woke Up In Tokyo (RUKA&ASA)” has been released.

Ahead of the release of their first full-length album “DRIP,” BABYMONSTER is releasing the highlights of the songs one after another, making fans excited. On the 18th, YG Entertainment posted “(DRIP)’Woke Up In Tokyo(RUKA&ASA)” PREVIEW” on their official blog.

“Woke Up In Tokyo (RUKA&ASA)”, which is the seventh song on the album, is the first unit song for members RUKA and ASA, and also the first unit song for the group.

The catchy sound that flows from the introduction section instantly captivates your ears. The familiar melody that listeners can’t help but hum along with the solid bass line creates a unique atmosphere. The talented “word play” that makes use of onomatopoeia blends in throughout, making it a pleasure to listen to. In particular, the trendy flow and Japanese and English lyrics intersect in a variety of ways, injecting vitality into the song.

Above all, the rapping by RUKA and ASA, who have low-tone and high-tone voices, respectively, stuck in my mind. The two, who also participated in writing the lyrics, created a perfect synergy effect despite their contradictory charms, creating a highly addictive song that aroused curiosity about euphemisms.

BABYMONSTER will make a comeback with their 1st full album ‘DRIP’ on November 1st at 1pm. (Released in Japan on November 2nd) Contains nine tracks from a variety of genres including hip-hop, dance, and R&B, including the title song of the same name, “DRIP,” in which G-DRAGON participated in the composition. YG plans to continue with promotions befitting a super-large project, including producing several music videos.
