“Saint☆Onisan” depicts the daily life of Jesus, the son of God, and the enlightened Buddha, who live together in a 6-tatami-room apartment without a bath in Tachikawa, Tokyo, and enjoy a vacation in the lower world. A unique gag manga with bold and innovative depictions that has sold over 17 million copies (author: Hikaru Nakamura/currently being serialized in Kodansha’s “Morning Two”/21 volumes published so far).

The first live-action movie of “Saint Onisan”, which can be called Japan’s representative gag manga, is “Saint Onisan THE MOVIE ~Holy Men VS Demon Corps~”. The director is Yuichi Fukuda, a comedic genius who has directed films such as the “Gintama” series, “Kyo Kara Ore wa!! The Movie” and “New Interpretation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” This is an original episode drawn by the original author, Hikaru Nakamura, for the purpose of making it into a theatrical film, which is different from short stories depicting leisurely daily life.
