■A supplementary audio screening by director Tsuyoshi Domoto and Naoko Ogigami will also be scheduled from November 1st!
Two types of footage from the movie “Maru” starring Tsuyoshi Domoto have been released at once.
The first scene that has been released this time is the scene where Sawada, played by Domoto, is semi-forcibly invited to dinner by Yokoyama, played by Go Ayano, and they have a conversation at the counter of an izakaya. In this scene where two neighbors talk about being useful to others, Yokoyama is obsessed with having to be of service to others and struggles with his inability to realize himself, while Yokoyama is conflicted about his inability to realize himself, saying, “If I can’t be of use, I’m no good.” The contrast with Sawada’s indifferent tone is striking.
Yokoyama asks, “What can you do?” and Sawada seriously replies, “I can whistle.” Yokoyama is puzzled by the answer, saying, “I don’t need one,” but he says, “I can’t whistle, after all.” This series of exchanges has received many rave reviews since its release, but in fact, this scene, “I can’t whistle,” was created from Ayano’s ad-lib while reading a book. He says that he was able to capture the attention of director Ogigami, who doesn’t usually use ad-libs very actively, and asked him to “please do it during the actual performance.” Pay attention to Domoto’s detailed expression when he receives this line.
Furthermore, in another scene that has been released, Sawada, who has started to make a fuss over as the unknown artist “Sawada”, is working part-time at a convenience store when a pair of high school girls ask him to take a picture with him. receive an attack from A high school girl is happily frolicking as if facing her “favorite”, while Sawada is confused by the sudden event. Mo, played by Win Morisaki, comments on the situation by asking, “What’s going on now?”
Sawada, who suddenly became famous in a place unknown to him, is captured in the contrast between a high school girl and Sawada, who is left behind, and the two of them are posing together as if forming a heart at a photo booth. It’s a scene where Sawada’s facial expressions as he gets caught up in a strange event give off a somewhat funny feeling.
The movie will be screened from November 1st to November 7th, the third week of its release, and as a bonus for visitors, a “special making only for theaters” will be shown after the main movie screening. Don’t miss the special video that can only be seen in theaters, which will be shown after the main movie’s end credits.
Additionally, a supplementary audio screening with director Tsuyoshi Domoto and director Naoko Ogigami will be held from November 1st. This is a screening where you can enjoy watching the movie while listening to the commentary using your smartphone and earphones. Furthermore, the secondary audio is amazing! Don’t miss the commentary on the five highlights by movie professionals. Be sure to enjoy the many episodes written by Domoto and director Ogigami that can only be heard here at the theater.
