The Cro-Magnons’ new song “Hungry to Ore” has been selected as the theme song for the feature film “Kodoku no Gourmet” to be released on January 10, 2025.
“Kodoku no Gourmet” is a hard-boiled gourmet manga written by Masayuki Kusumi and illustrated by Jiro Taniguchi. In January 2012, when it was serialized as a TV Tokyo drama starring Yutaka Matsushige, it gained tremendous support not only in Japan but also overseas, and the series continued until the 10th season, and it has enjoyed a long and popular reputation as a “monumental landmark in gourmet documentary dramas.” It became a drama series.
It has also been decided that “Geki Eiga Kodoku no Gourmet” will be released on January 10, 2025 as a special project commemorating the 60th anniversary of TV Tokyo’s opening.
Yutaka Matsushige, who directed, wrote the script for, and starred in the feature film “Kodoku no Gourmet” and Hiroto Komoto of The Cro-Magnons are old friends. Matsushige, who came to Tokyo about 40 years ago with the dream of becoming a film director, and Komoto, who came to Tokyo to become a band member, started working part-time on the same day at Mintei, a Chinese restaurant in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo.
Approximately 40 years later, The Cro-Magnons will be performing the theme song for Matsushige’s masterpiece and directorial debut, “Kodoku no Gourmet.” Matsushige enthusiastically offered Komoto the theme song, and the song was completed.
