Naniwa Danshi Daigo Nishihata to appear in “Doctor X” spin-off drama “Doctor Y ~Surgeon Hideki Kaji~”

■“I hope you look forward to seeing how Kaji-sensei and Ren-kun will deepen their relationship and how the story will expand.” (Naniwa Danshi, Daigo Nishihata)

It has been announced that Naniwa Danshi’s Daigo Nishihata will appear on “Doctor Y: Surgeon Hideki Kaji”, which will be broadcast from 9pm on November 30th.

It has been announced that the series will conclude with the release of the theatrical version on December 6th, the blockbuster work “Doctor X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon” starring Ryoko Yonekura. The spin-off drama that was born in 2016 is “Doctor Y: Surgeon Hideki Kaji”, starring Masanobu Katsumura.

Although his skills are so good that he is revered as a laparoscopic magician, he is somewhat disappointing as a person. Originally, the popular series starring Hideki Kaji, a very human-like and popular character – a surgeon who likes herds, loves money, and uses only his laparoscopic skills and good manners as his weapon, will be broadcast for the first time in three years. is decided. Prior to the release of “Doctor

Katsumura, who was involved in the filming of this film, said, “I’m deeply moved to be able to work on “Doctor Y” even after reaching my 60th birthday. It’s like a dream.” This time, new cast members who strongly support him will also participate.

Katsumura welcomes Daigo Nishihata (Naniwa Danshi) and Mitsuhiro Oikawa, who also appear in “Doctor .

Kaji (Katsumura) has freely transcended the boundaries of genre in each episode of “Doctor Y,” creating a variety of dramas filled with joy and sadness. In the second part, he gets caught up in a ghost commotion while on duty and freaks out, and in the third part, he is completely defeated in the professor election. From the 4th series onwards, he is forced into a corner due to an unexpected illegitimate child incident and a surgical error (and heartbreak), but he keeps coming back like a phoenix.

This time, Kaji is seriously on the brink, facing unprecedented hardships. When he came to Singapore to run an errand for Totei University Hospital, to which he belongs, he accidentally gambled and got into a once-in-a-lifetime gamble, and lost the money spectacularly. As expected, the hospital’s funds were completely wiped out, and the hospital was plunged into debt hell. Moreover, as a condition for taking over a large amount of debt, he receives a mysterious request from a certain person, “Please don’t let Ren Higashimura become a doctor.”

Ren Higashimura is a character played by Daigo Nishihata in “Doctor X the Movie.” In the movie version, Ren appears as a trainee doctor, but in this version of “Doctor Y,” he is still a half-baked medical student doing clinical training at Totei University Hospital as a student doctor. What’s more, this student is an incredible monster!? Because even though he has top grades, his attitude is the worst ever. Nishihata, who plays the role, also shudders, saying, “He’s an overconfident, self-centered, modern-day kid, and to put it in one word, he’s a dangerous kid.To be honest, I hated him myself.”

Kaji approaches such a careless medical student as a supervising doctor to carry out his request, but ends up being treated like a bastard. What is the fate of Kaji, who is in a big pinch? You can’t take your eyes off the turbulent story.

Another person who holds the key to the story is Eigo Kusuda, played by Mitsuhiro Oikawa. No matter what he hides, Kusuda is Ren’s father. The moment Kaji learns this fact, the memories from 18 years ago that he had sealed away in his mind come back to life.

A father and son with different last names for some reason – Kusuda’s background, which Oikawa describes as “a life full of sadness,” and what is Ren’s sad past hidden there? And what is Kaji’s unknown past that is revealed for the first time by interacting with them?

Amidst the bursts of laughter typical of “Doctor Y,” Katsumura also said, “Is it okay to move people with “Doctor Y”? Honestly, I’m surprised!” A tearful story that moved my heart, and a shocking Donden. The latest work that awaits the return and spectacular ending. Please look forward to this heartwarming medical drama that will make you laugh and cry, packed with the best of all kinds of entertainment.

Another fun aspect of “Doctor Y” is the special appearance by the “Doctor X” family, which can be called the original shared universe. This time, Ryoko Yonekura, who plays Michiko Daimon, will be in the lead, Yuki Uchida (Hiromi Jonouchi, role), Kosuke Suzuki (Haramori, role), Kazunori Kishibe (Akira Kanbara, role), Kenichi Endo (Kei Ebina, role), and 10 others. The famous actor Toshiyuki Nishida (played by Shigekatsu Hiruma), who passed away on the moon, gathers together. Each one adds exquisite spice to the story, enlivening the story.

Furthermore, the famous mahjong scene from “Doctor Here, the surprising past connections between Michiko, Akira, and Kusuda, played by Oikawa, are revealed. “I never expected that I would be playing mahjong with Yonekura-san for the first time…! Just being able to play mahjong with such a gorgeous regular member made me feel like I was a part of this series, and it was fun,” Oikawa said. Also, keep an eye out for the exciting dream match.

Q. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that the 7th episode of “Doctor Y” would be broadcast.
More than 10 years have passed since “Doctor X” was born, and I also celebrated my 60th birthday last year. I am deeply moved to be able to continue working on “Doctor Y” even after reaching my 60th birthday, and it feels like a dream.,I was very excited.

Q. Many members of “Doctor
I had a stable sense of home, like coming back to my parents’ home. We often communicate with the familiar members of “Doctor Even during filming, we talked all the time until just before the actual performance (lol). There aren’t many sit-down groups like this.

Q. Were you able to get into the role of Kaji-sensei right away?
Rather than being immersed, each character is firmly established within the bodies of all the regular cast members. The other day, when I visited Aomori for another drama, everyone I met called me “Kaji-sensei!”. In rural areas, people always call me “Kaji-sensei!”, so people understand my role name more than my real name (lol). It is a great privilege for an actor to be able to identify with his character and call him by his character’s name among the viewers. I’m really grateful.

Q. Please tell us your impression of Daigo Nishihata, who plays Ren Higashimura.
In 2021, I acted with Nishihata-kun in the drama “14 Reasons Why Boys Can’t Return to Jimoto”, and he’s skillful and good at acting, he’s good with people, and he’s a nice young man… I’m a person who has nothing to say. Actually, Ren Higashimura, played by Nishihata, is a completely different character in “Doctor X FINAL the Movie” and “Doctor Y.” So, I think it was difficult for him, but he quickly got used to the slightly different staff and seemed to be having fun. He has plenty of experience and courage, and I think he will continue to grow as an actor.

Q.What is your impression of Mitsuhiro Oikawa, who plays Eigo Kusuda?
Mitchie doesn’t have anything else to say either (lol). Mitchie himself said, “He’s just an uncle!” But he’s a truly beautiful and gorgeous prince, and there’s nothing Mitchie can’t do. When Mitchie comes to the set, everyone falls into Mitchie’s world without even realizing it, and everyone feels happy. This time, Mitchie is playing a slightly shadowy role, but as you can see from his current performance, he’s extremely good at acting and is very charming! Visually, I think you’ll be able to see a Mitchie you’ve never seen before.

Q. Please give a message to the viewers.
This time, all the cast members who read the script unanimously said they were “moved.” The director and I both worried, “Will we be able to impress people with ‘Doctor Y?” (laughs) To be honest, I was surprised at how wonderful the story was, with a completely different taste from the previous works, which had an overwhelmingly strong comedy tone! I hope everyone will enjoy “Doctor Y” like never before.

Q. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would appear in “Doctor Y”.
First and foremost, I was very happy to be able to work with Katsumura (Masanobu) again. I was thinking that I would like to work with you again someday, so I felt very honored.

Q. Please tell us your impressions of Ren Higashimura, who you will be playing this time, and what you kept in mind while playing the role.
Ren-kun can be summed up in one word as a “dangerous kid.” She’s an overconfident and self-centered kid, and she also has a ruthless side to her that doesn’t seem to think of other people as people. To be honest, I hated him myself. But in reality, he also has a human side… Although he is unpleasant, I wanted to make him look cute enough for his age, so I consulted with the director and created the play. It was a very interesting role to play.

Q. How is the atmosphere at the filming location?
I really felt like I was warmly invited into the workplace where we all got along well. Mr. Katsumura teases the staff with lots of love and makes a lot of tsukkomi to liven up the scene, so I think, “As a Kansai person, I can’t afford to lose,” so I try to give tsukkomi every now and then. I did it!

Q.This is your first time working on a medical drama, so please tell us what you felt after actually participating in the filming.
Most of the technical terminology is in kanji, so it’s so hard to remember that it feels like reading Chinese, and medical technology procedures and hand movements are also extremely difficult! Once again, I felt that doctors are truly amazing!

Q.Once again, please tell us your impressions of Masanobu Katsumura, who plays the lead role.
On the first day, I was given a strong hug and said, “It’s been a while!”, which made me so happy! Mr. Katsumura helped me with everything on set, which made me feel very comfortable, and I can rely on him wholeheartedly. By the way, Katsumura-san and I are also baby-faced friends. Katsumura-san said to me during a break in filming, “Perhaps we’ll still be ‘boys’ no matter how old we are,” and we thought, “That’s true…” and encouraged each other, “Let’s do our best together.” (LOL) .

Q.What is your impression of Mitsuhiro Oikawa, who plays Ren’s father Eigo Kusuda?
This was my first time meeting Oikawa-san, and the moment we met, he called out to me, “Oh, you’re Nishihata-kun!” At that moment, I was convinced, “This person is absolutely kind!” I couldn’t help but get excited even when I saw the scene with the two of them (lol). The first thing I want to do is brag to my parents, “My dad is Mitchie” (lol)!

Q. Please give a message to the viewers.
Even though it’s a slapstick drama, there are some scenes that make you think, and I think it’s a drama that will make you laugh and cry. I hope you look forward to seeing how Kaji-sensei and Ren-kun will deepen their relationship and how the story will expand.

Q. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would appear in “Doctor Y”.
“It’s finally here!” I thought. “Doctor X” and “Doctor Y” are extremely popular and long-selling works. Will I be able to smoothly step into the completed sitting group? I was a little apprehensive, but this is my first chance to co-star with Katsumura-senpai, whom I have admired since high school, since the movie “Seven Meetings” (2019), and for the first time in a full-fledged performance together, so I would definitely like to participate. I thought.

Q.What is the atmosphere like on the set?
It turned out just as I had imagined! It’s been a long time since I last saw “Dr. Y”, and while everyone was happy and excited to be reunited, I felt like a “first-time visitor to a snack bar where regular customers gather” (lol). However, Katsumura-senpai, who I had had drinks with privately several times, took me in a mellow manner… Mr. Katsumura is kind and considerate. When I’m alone, he makes fun of me and doesn’t leave me alone. While talking with Mr. Katsumura, I got a feel for the mood at the scene.

Q. There was also a mahjong scene with Ryoko Yonekura and other members of “Doctor X”, how was that?
I felt extremely honored. I never expected that I would be playing mahjong with Mr. Yonekura for the first time…! Just being able to play mahjong with those gorgeous regular members made me feel like I was a part of this series, and it was fun.

Q. Please tell us your impressions of Eigo Kusuda, who you will be playing this time, and what you kept in mind while playing the role.
My impression is of a “sad man”. Kusuda is a person who dropped out of the elite road due to a sad event, and I get the impression that his life is filled with sadness. Therefore, I am conscious of the pathos in my acting. However, Kusuda and I really don’t have anything in common… The costume is completely different from the usual Mitchie, and is now a cosplay (lol). Every time I looked in the mirror and saw myself in new clothes, sneakers that I would never wear, and sunburn makeup, I was amazed and thought, “Wow!”

Q. Please tell us your impressions of Daigo Nishihata, who plays Kusuda’s son Ren Higashimura.
A charming person! I thought he had very impressive eyes. On the first day of filming, we greeted each other and started shooting right away, so we didn’t have much conversation, but we did talk about Attack on Titan.

Q. Please give a message to the viewers.
When I read the script, I was convinced that this would be exciting entertainment. It was a lot of fun while filming. If nothing else, Katsumura-san’s flexible acting that makes you cry and laugh is very attractive, and the final scene is sure to be a masterpiece! I would like you to pay attention to it. Also… it’s Mitchy with a tan (lol). I think this might be the last chance to see me like this.
