■NEWS Shigeaki Kato goes to Kasukabe with Ryo Katsuji!

NEWS’ Shigeaki Kato and Ryo Katsuji will appear on Nippon Television’s “Meshidora Kanechika & Shinnosuke’s Gourmet Drive” broadcast on November 9th.

What Shigeaki Kato was waiting for was “Angel Dome.” Despite meeting Kato for the first time, Mitsushima greets Kato with a high five as usual. Then, Kato introduced him and said, “There’s another person here,” and Ryo Katsuji appeared. Why has Katsuji appeared in Meshidora three times so far, and always appeared in the middle? Moreover, when I was wondering if he would appear from the beginning, Kato said something surprising, “We’re really good friends.” Kato and Katsuji seem to be close enough that they “go on trips together” and “see each other about three times a week.” Before we listen to the details, let’s start with the title call with Crayon Shin-chan.

When we got into the car, the first topic we talked about was Kato’s likes and dislikes of food. Kato says he doesn’t like potatoes, chestnuts, pumpkins, etc. When asked by Mitsushima, “What about bagels?” Kato replies, “I’ve come to like bagels.” “About 10 years ago, I became friends with a foreigner who couldn’t speak Japanese,” he says, “and he was from New York,” and he made bagels for me, and ever since then, he’s loved bagels. I’d like to hear more about how he became friends with this New Yorker who doesn’t speak Japanese, but I arrived at the first store of the day.

Kato personally negotiated the interview with POLDER BAGEL. While we ordered a total of 6 dishes and waited for them to be ready, the topic of conversation was about Kato before his debut. Kato, who was looking for a private junior high school where he could pursue his entertainment career, says, “The first day (of the entrance exam) was Keio, the second day was Seigaku, and on the third day I got the results and got accepted to Seigaku.” When Katsuji heard this, he was envious and said, “You’ve had a life where you haven’t won,” and Kato laughs and says, “The Naoki Prize was the one I won most recently.”

When he was nominated for the Naoki Prize for the second time, Katsuji was at Kato’s house waiting for the results to be announced with Kato’s family. As a result, Kato missed out on the Naoki Award and cheerfully entered the room saying, “I’m sorry, it didn’t work out,” but as soon as he sat down, he burst into tears and said, “Life doesn’t change that easily.” Hearing this, Katsuji said he was moved and thought, “This is someone who has walked such an elite path and still wants to change his life.”

Looking back, Kato says, “It was extremely difficult for us as a group.” He wrote his first work, “Pink and Gray,” thinking, “I wonder if there are surprisingly few times in my life when I can really try my best.If I can’t do it now, I won’t be able to do anything in my life.” The food I ordered arrived here. After the serious talk, as usual, there was impersonation and singing, and we had fun and enjoyed delicious bagels while having fun and having fun.

On the way to the next store, we talked about Katsuji. “I failed the audition for Shige’s agency,” he confesses about his surprising past. Katsuji, who later entered the entertainment industry through scouting, says, “Whenever I met people at otaku agencies for work, they became hostile.” Hearing this, Kato laughed and said, “I’d heard about Ryo Katsuji, the “Horikoshi’s wild horse” here and there, and I didn’t want to have anything to do with him.”

We arrived at Takesato Golf Center. We decided to play a game to decide who would pay for today’s trip. This day was the putter golf showdown “Mesidora Open.” It’s a very messy fight, and in the end, Mitsushima changes the rules on his own and Kanechika makes a complaint, but who will be in last place and pay for the day?

Next came Motsuyaki Ishin. Here, we ordered a total of 10 items and talked about the current location of each of the four people, who are now in their 30s. Kato and Katsuji say that after they reach a certain age, they become more and more natural-looking. Kato said, “Even if you admire someone, you realize that you can’t do it, or that you can’t be that person.” Kato said, “I was picturing a more serious actor, though. “I realized that wasn’t the case,” Katsuji responded. Kanechika also said, “I don’t care about other people’s voices anymore,” as each of the four young and middle-aged participants happily confirms their current state of mind and position.

The last shop we went to was “BORDER CAFE,” which happily accepted us even though it was about to close. This is the end of Meshidora, where the four members are full of the “youthful feeling of being in their 30s” until the end.
