“Newtro”, a “revival” music project that rebuilds Japan’s proud masterpieces, has released the music video for their 14th song “LA・LA・LA LOVE SONG × YonYon feat. Gimgigam, Atsushi Inoue (showmore)” .

The revived songs are by Toshinobu Kubota, one of Japan’s leading singers who is known as the pioneer of Japanese R&B, and whose overwhelming singing ability, high-quality songs, and outstanding sense of rhythm have been highly praised by music fans. Big hit song “LA・LA・LA LOVE SONG”.

It remains in many people’s memories as the theme song for the Heisei hit drama “Long Vacation,” and it is still loved throughout the ages, as it is still covered by many artists as a representative song of the 90s.

YonYon, a multi-artist who was born in Seoul and grew up in Tokyo, and who is popular among a wide range of generations as a DJ who sings, rearranged this song and arranged it into South African dance music, Amapiano.

The illustration for the MV was done by Shizumi. Additionally, an interview with YonYon will be aired on “Newtro” which will be broadcast on MUSIC ON! TV on May 24th.

■YonYon comment
Nowadays, Japanese city pop as well as old pop songs from the 80’s and 90’s are attracting renewed attention worldwide, and this is a cover of the famous song “LA・LA・LA LOVE SONG” that everyone knows. I’m truly honored to have been able to create it.

The project was to try out a chemical reaction by combining the old and the new, so what would happen if we incorporated the Amapiano, which is currently in season? With the full cooperation of producer Gimgigam and keyboardist Atsushi Inoue, the result was the most emotional dance music.

The music genre called Amapiano has elements of R&B and JAZZ in addition to house music, so it has an affinity with the original song, and the BPM is also impressive, but Japanese pop and South African dance music have grown to this point. It was a new discovery, wondering if it would fit.

I would be happy if the newly reborn, modern “LA・LA・LA LOVE SONG” becomes a song that excites the hearts of many people. Please drop it on the dance floor in the morning!
