This is the 24th year of rice cultivation that started in Otama Village, Fukushima Prefecture, which is 30 minutes north of Koriyama Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen and overlooks Mt. Adatara, one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains. This year, we increased the number of terraced rice fields by one and started cultivating “Shin-otoko-mai” and “Messi” in five terraced rice fields, but three months after planting, we noticed something strange about the rice, which had been growing rapidly up until then. . The natural enemies of rice, locusts and stink bugs, were occurring in large numbers, and the leaves and ears were being eaten.

TOKIO’s Masahiro Matsuoka, who rushed to this important situation, agreed, saying, “I can’t stay silent if someone messes with my ears,” and together with Morimoto, they set out to make the heirloom sword, which is chemical-free. This year, in order to make even more powerful pesticide-free pesticides, we will be procuring secret ingredients from a mysterious organization called the Yokohama Association in Fukushima. Then, the strongest “spicy pesticide-free pesticide” ever was born.

Now that September has arrived, the long-awaited rice harvesting season has arrived! Shigeru Jojima, Taichi Kokubun, Matsuoka, Morimoto, Fujiwara, and their friends from Fukushima also rushed in, and everyone started the 24th rice harvest together.

After three weeks of working together to dry the harvested rice using a “pole”, the 24th year of new rice was finally completed. It has been 23 years since he first started growing rice, and Jojima has tears in his eyes as he thinks about the passage of time.
