Nippon Television’s new Saturday drama number 10 for July has been decided to be “Secret Mitsuko-san” starring Fukuhara Haruka.

This will be Fukuhara’s first lead role in a Nippon Television drama series, and she will play the mysterious “total coordinator” Motomiya Mitsuko. She is an enigmatic woman who always makes her clients successful by any means necessary, and her next partner is Imai Natsu, a single mother who has had a string of bad luck. Teaming up, Mitsuko and Natsu aim to become president of a large company led by a glamorous family. However, there is a big “secret” behind Mitsuko’s visit…

Q. How did you feel when you received the offer?
I was surprised to find out that I would be playing the lead role in this Saturday 10pm slot on Nippon Television, and I was really looking forward to it. When I read the script, I was shocked by how interesting it was, and it was a story I personally loved so much that I ended up rereading it over and over, so I can’t wait to start filming. The role of Motomiya Mitsuko is a completely different type of character from the ones I’ve played up until now, so I’m a bit nervous about how I should play it, but I’m also looking forward to it.

Q. What do you think about the content of the drama?
Her role is that of a total coordinator who can fulfill any request from her client, and she does not only coordinate their appearance, but also mental training and even behind-the-scenes work, transforming them and leading them to success by any means necessary. It’s a success story that makes a woman shine, a moving story about the rebirth of a person, and also a suspenseful story of Mitsuko setting a trap, making it a mysterious, new type of drama.

Q. What do you think is the appeal of Motomiya Mitsuko?
As a total coordinator, I think it’s a really wonderful job to be able to change not only the appearance but also the inside of the person to make them shine. I think she’s a talented character who has learned a lot of things and has a lot of different things, so I’m looking forward to it, and since she’s a heroine with a bit of a dark side, I’m thinking about how to show that. The character of Mitsuko is so perfect that I’m a little excited.

Q. Please give a message to the viewers.
Is it a success story, a moving tale of human rebirth, or even a suspense drama? It’s a drama with so many different elements that it’s a secret, or something to be curious about, until you watch it in front of the TV. It’s also full of messages that will give you a positive feeling, and encourage you to think that if you change yourself, the world might change, so I hope you’ll all look forward to it.

“Secret Mitsuko-san” is a new heroine for a new era. “Mitsuko-san” is a total coordinator who gives a push to people who lack self-confidence and don’t know what the right answer is in a world where we are expected to find the right answer.
