■Following JUNG KOOK, a BTS member has won the award for the second year in a row!
BTS JIMIN won the “BEST K-POP” award in 2024 at the “2024 MTV Europe Music Awards” (hereinafter referred to as “MTV EMA”) held on November 10th (hereinafter local time).
This is the second year in a row that a BTS member has won the trophy, following JUNG KOOK being selected as the “BEST K-POP” award winner in 2024. “MTV EMA” newly established “Best K-POP” in 2021, and BTS was nominated as a group for the award in that year.
Jimin’s 2nd solo album “MUSE” and title song “Who” released in July are still gaining popularity on various global charts even after nearly 4 months since their release. This popularity seems to have influenced the song’s MTV EMA award.
“MUSE” and “Who” have been on the US Billboard’s “Billboard 200” and “HOT 100” for 15 consecutive weeks. It stayed on the UK official charts for 16 weeks and is popular worldwide. “Who” also ranked 4th in the latest “Weekly Top Songs Global” on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, and remains in the “TOP 5.”
“Who” brought Jimin his best results as a solo artist. This song charted at number 4 on the UK Official Singles Chart, marking the highest ranking for a solo song. In addition, in the first week of its release, it topped various charts such as “Single Sales,” “Single Download,” and “Physical Single Sales.”
