NewJeans・MINJI＆HANNI appears on the cover of “SPUR”! Talk about important memories and the future

It has been announced that NewJeans’ MINJI and HANNI will appear on the cover of the January issue of “SPUR” (released on November 22nd).

NewJeans made their debut in Japan in June 2024, and their first solo performance at Tokyo Dome also received a great response. The group graced the cover of “SPUR” in the March 2023 issue, but this is the first time that the two of them will appear alone on the cover and opening page of the magazine. On the cover, each wears costumes from Chanel (MINJI) and Gucci (HANNI), for which they serve as ambassadors, and the cuts highlight their respective personalities.

The theme of the opening fashion story featuring these two is “flowers.” The studio in Seoul, South Korea, where the photo was taken, was filled with colorful and unique flowers. The photography was done by Peter Ash Lee, who lives in New York and has worked on many cover shoots for SPUR, and the costumes were done by Yumi Choi, who has been styling the group since their debut. Please pay attention to the unique styling that combines domestic and foreign brands and the hair and makeup that reflects this concept.

As the oldest members of the group and the same age, MINJI and HANNI have always had a close relationship. They were seen talking friendly on set and communicating with the staff in a friendly manner, and the mood remained peaceful from beginning to end. In the interview, they talk about what the other person means to them, their first impressions when they first met, their precious memories, and what they are looking forward to. Some of the answers included their current moods, such as the fashion they would like to try in the winter of 2024 and the songs they would recommend from New Jeans. I was looking forward to seeing what kind of shoot it would be like. I was actually a little nervous, but I think I had a lot of fun working on it. I usually wear simple clothes, but the look I wore for this photo shoot had lots of volume and cute points, which was very refreshing!

I had a lot of fun filming “SPUR” last year, so I’m happy to be able to appear on it again. And this time, a new style with MINJI! I was able to try out a lot of fashion styles that I wouldn’t normally wear, and the flower concept was beautiful and wonderful.
