Tsuyoshi Kusanagi commented on his friend Shingo Katori on Sunday’s First Time Hearing. “He’s the one I want to be by my side forever.”

■ “I have dance skills!” says Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, full of confidence. The origin of this is his intense training with Shingo Katori in his junior high school days.

“Interviewer Hayashi Osamu” is a hugely popular segment on MBS/TBS’s “Sunday First Time Hearing” where Professor Hayashi faces off one-on-one with “the charismatic figures of the times.” The May 26 broadcast will feature two shows: the second half of the Kusanagi Tsuyoshi vs. Hayashi Osamu interview, and a talk with Lawson president, Takemasu Sadanobu.

In the second half of the show, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi looks into his origins as an actor and his relationship with his close friend, Shingo Katori.

When talking about the dance videos he posts on SNS, he confidently says, “I have dance skills!” He says he can copy the choreography perfectly just by watching it. He also reveals that the origin of this is the intense training he underwent with Katori when he was in junior high school.

The conversation turned to the play “Burst! ~Dangerous Two~” directed by Koki Mitani, which became a hot topic for its two-person play with Kusanagi and Katori, and he revealed the strange relationship between Mitani and Katori. Looking back on his past with Katori, he said, “He’s the person I want to be by my side forever.”

Kusanagi says that he was able to be freed from the anxiety and inferiority complex he felt when he first formed SMAP because he was able to meet many of his mentors. However, Kusanagi was told a shocking story by the film crew of his currently-showing movie “Goban-giri.” What is the true meaning of that story…?

Finally, he says that the advice he received from Tsuka Kohei, the director of the play “Kamata March,” in which he appeared at the age of 25, still guides his life today.
