The green and yellow society, which has decided to participate in Kohaku for the third consecutive year, will appear on NHK’s “SONGS”.

Midoriya Society is a four-person band formed in 2012 by high school classmates in Nagoya. After making her major debut in 2018, “Mela!” became a huge hit in 2020 as a dance project on a TV program. In 2022, he made his first appearance in Kohaku, and the following year, he held his first arena tour that attracted 60,000 people, and continues to climb the path to becoming a top artist.

In this edition of “SONGS,” we visit the live house in Nagoya where Midoriya Society held their first one-man live. Before their debut, the four members had been worried about not having a clear goal, but this “special live” served as an opportunity to take a new path. There are scenes that bring tears to my eyes as I remember those days.

In the studio talk, we delve into the secret story behind the formation of the Green-Yellow Society, which the program director Hiroshi Oizumi couldn’t help but marvel at, saying, “It’s like a drama!” In addition to a special message from Atsushi Yanaka of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, who is a close friend of mine, there will also be a series of valuable stories that the members have not been able to share with each other.

Furthermore, in 2024, Midoriya Society created the theme song for the junior high school division of the NHK National School Music Contest. They visited a junior high school in Nagoya and talked with the students about their assigned song, “We are creatures.” At the end of the location shoot, there was a surprise chorus performance with junior high school students.

In the studio performance, they will perform “Mela!”, which gave them their break, “We are creatures”, which is an encouragement to today’s junior high school students, and “Hana nitte”, which is filled with the new charm of the green-yellow society.
