■“Maybe I was able to clearly understand what it means to live a life for someone else.” (SUPER EIGHT Shota Yasuda)
The first episode of UHB Hokkaido Bunka Broadcasting’s new program “Wonder Culture Trip -FACT-” starring Shota Yasuda (SUPER EIGHT) will be broadcast from 9:50 on December 31st.
The program is produced as a joint project with Space Shower Network, and the second episode will be broadcast on Space Shower TV from 10pm on January 28th.
“Wonder Culture Trip -FACT-” was created based on the feelings that Shohiro Yasuda had since he was working at the same time. In the first episode, I traveled with film director Elizabeth Miyachi, creative director Daisuke Sakamoto, and others to meet Ainu people living in various parts of Hokkaido.
What you should do while you’re still alive. It is about creating a culture that is on the verge of being lost. Connect with the next person.
It all started in Akan Town, located in the northern part of Kushiro City in eastern Hokkaido. Stroll through the Akan Forest with a woman who lives in Ainu Kotan. The next day, we moved to Shiranuka-cho. Accompanied young Ainu people on a deer hunting and marek fishing trip. Yasuda, who realizes that “the life he is living as an animal,” has been interested in it since he was also involved in receiving life.
After completing his journey, Shota Yasuda is thinking about one simple thing: “I will become what I am.” “The spirit that the Ainu people talked about, such as not being attached and becoming what you become, was similar to my own thoughts. Even when I was an idol, in my teens and 20s, I tried to live my life to the best of my ability. But after I got sick, I stopped putting myself first and not being desperate. Maybe I understood more clearly what it means to live a life for someone else.”
The film’s video director, Elizabeth Miyaji, is a filmmaker who has worked on documentaries and music videos for various artists such as BiSH, Creep Hype, and Fujii Kaze. He also starred in the hunting documentary film “WILL” to be released in 2024, starring Masahiro Higashide.
The program will be released on UHB’s YouTube channel “Actually” at a later date.
