King & Prince Ren Nagase x Naniwa Danshi Daigo Nishihata to co-star for the second time in the drama “Son of a Family”

It has been announced that Daigo Nishihata will be appearing in the new drama of Kantele/Fuji TV’s “Tue Dora Eleven” starring Ren Nagase, “Koi wa Muzusugi for the Son”, which will start on January 7, 2025.

Nishihata will play Tomoya Kusakabe, a childhood friend and best friend of the main character, Subaru Tendo, played by Nagase.

In this drama, the grandson of the chairman of a major apparel manufacturer, who has lived a spoiled and free-spirited life, becomes a colleague with a commoner woman who was born and raised in the exact opposite environment, and while working together on making children’s clothes,… A romantic comedy about first setbacks and true love.

She plays the role of a childhood friend and best friend who has been the closest support to the super vain heir of the main character!
Tomoya Kusakabe, played by Nishihata, is a childhood friend and best friend of Subaru Tendo, played by Nagase. He prides himself on being the person who understands Subaru the most, and has supported Subaru by his side through thick and thin. After the fashion brand he started with Subaru fails, Tomoya ends up working with Subaru at Fukuten, where Subaru’s grandfather, Wataru Tendo, is the chairman. As Subaru is drawn to Madoka, he becomes a good confidant.

This is Nishihata’s second time co-starring with Nagase, and they are also close friends in private. In the middle of the night, Nagase suddenly feels like eating cup ramen, so he suddenly visits Nishihata’s house, and Nishihata even makes him cup ramen. The two will play the roles of best friends in this work as well, but what kind of best friends will Nishihata and Nagase, who both have long acting careers, play? Q.What did you think when you heard that the two of you would be co-starring?
Nishihata:I didn’t hear it from Ren, but from my manager. I had plans to meet Ren that night, and I asked him, “Do you know I’m coming?”
Nagase:I also heard it around the same time. The manager said, “It looks like Mr. Nishihata will be appearing.”
Nishihata:It was a surprise.
Nagase:I didn’t know who was playing Tomoya, but it was Daigo. I never thought it would be Daigo. I was so happy.
Nishihata:I was like, “Thank you! I’ll follow you!” (laughs)
Q. You play the roles of best friends, but what do you each think about the other person’s roles?
Nishihata:I’m really looking forward to seeing how Ren will play the quirky character of Subaru. It was like that the last time we co-starred, but I feel embarrassed when I co-star with Ren…
Nagase:If you imagine it, it’s true. When you go to the scene, you may feel shy at first.
Nishihata:I want to eliminate that embarrassment. I’m looking forward to seeing how Ren’s Subaru will change.
Nagase:I think it’s easier because Daigo plays the role of the best friend. I think I can do it more freely and easily.
Nishihata:In a broad sense, the roles are the same as those of us. Ren looks like Subaru, and I look like Tomoya (lol), so I think it’s important to see how far we can incorporate that relationship into our acting. Regarding Tomoya’s role, I think he really likes Subaru. Subaru has an aura that is difficult to mess with, but Madoka and Tomoya are firmly attached to him.
Nagase:Subaru is supported by Tomoya.
Q. You have worked together before, but what are your impressions of each other on set?
Nishihata:Ren is a natural person. I think it’s fascinating that I’m on the scene as usual. I get really obsessed with things.
Nagase:Last time we co-starred, there was a scene where they looked at each other at close range, but Daigo was embarrassed and decided to cut it. Please don’t do that this time. I want you to see growth.
Nishihata:Please leave it to me. Let’s switch it up.
Q.Are there any scenes you’re looking forward to?
Nagase:I wonder how he will tolerate Subaru’s reckless behavior, how he will respond to his narcissistic remarks, and how he will respond. If Tomoya abandons him, Subaru will become a really dangerous guy (lol)
Nishihata:Since it’s a romantic comedy, I’m really curious about the love story between Subaru and Madoka. (In a whisper) I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to it from Tomoya’s perspective, and I’m also looking forward to seeing how Ren will act from Daigo Nishihata’s perspective.
