The special drama “Inspector Asagao 2025 New Year Special” (Fuji TV) starring Juri Ueno will be broadcast from 9:00 PM on January 3, 2025. A large number of photos from the scene have now been released all at once.
“Inspector Asagao” is based on the manga of the same name, and the main character, Maki (Kuwabara) Asagao (Juri Ueno), a forensic scientist at Koun University’s forensic medicine department, dissects corpses to prove that they were alive. This is a heart-wrenchingly heart-warming story about how people find out what is going on and save the hearts of the remaining living people.
Although Asagao is grieving the loss of her mother, Maki Satoko (Ishida Hikari), who was affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, she continues to support her father, Maki Taira (Tokito Saburo), her detective husband, Kuwabara Shinya (Kazama Shunsuke), and her eldest daughter, Kuwabara Tsugumi. (Yuzuna Nagase), her second daughter Satomi Kuwabara (Chitose Nakamura) and other family members, she gradually overcomes her sadness.
After the first series was broadcast as a monthly 9 drama in the July 2019 period, the second series will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons in the same slot from November 2020, and one night each in January 2021 and September 2022. A limited special drama will be broadcast. Both have received high viewership ratings, and this time, the long-awaited new special drama will be delivered in the new year of 2025.
Taira (Saburo Tokito), who has been suffering from dementia, is moved to a nursing home in Sennoura, Iwate Prefecture, as per his wishes, and the Asagao family consists of Asagao (Juri Ueno), Shinya (Shunsuke Kazama), his eldest daughter Tsugumi (Yuzuna Nagase), The second daughter Satomi (Chitose Nakamura) and her family of four have started living together. As Tsugumi grew up, she sometimes said rebellious things, making Shinya a little lonely, but happy days filled with love continued.
At that time, a body, apparently drowned, is discovered. A suicide note was also found, and it was assumed that the death was suicide, but an autopsy revealed several suspicious points that suggest drowning, raising the possibility of murder. In addition, bodies that appear to have been electrocuted are found one after another, and autopsy results reveal a connection between the two incidents. Shinya, who is working hard on the investigation, works with Yamakura (Shigeyuki Totsugi), Morimoto (Shintaro Morimoto/SixTONES) and other members of the forced crime section to get closer to the big incident that lies ahead. At the same time, Tsugumi begins to say strange things about Taira, who is not supposed to be nearby, saying, “I think I saw Grandpa Taira.”
In addition to the familiar cast members, guest appearances by Yoshi Sakako and Satomi Tezuka have been decided. Sakako plays the key role of this story, a man with a tragic past, and Tezuka plays the role of a grieving mother who lost her son in an accident. The two, who boast outstanding acting skills, will lead the story of this work filled with “family love” together with Tomoko Yamaguchi and other familiar cast members.
