The broadcast contents of NHK BS’s “The Covers” for the second week of December have been announced.
The guests are the Gospellers. With them celebrating their 30th anniversary since their major debut in December, they will deliver a plethora of Christmas classics.
Gospellers Wham! A cappella cover of “Last Christmas”, the world standard number by Back Number, and “Christmas Song”, the 2015 hit song by Back Number. She will also show off her own “Pearl”.
During the talk, the participants talked about the charm of the songs, the historical background, and their own Christmas memories, creating a great excitement.
There will also be a “Christmas Song Masterpiece Selection” presented from the program’s 11th year of performances.
We will deliver “Christmas Eve” by CHEMISTRY (Tatsuro Yamashita), “WINTER SONG” (DREAMS COME TRUE) sung by Ayaka Hirahara, “Ai Katamari” by KinKi Kids, and “Procession of the Saints” by Ryoko Moriyama. Must-see Christmas and winter masterpieces by gorgeous artists.
There’s also a corner that looks into the history of Japanese Christmas songs. From Christmas songs from the 1950s to masterpieces by Yumin and Tatsuro Yamashita that are indispensable for this season, we will delve into them with the Gospellers.
