BLACKPINK’s debut song “BOOMBAYAH” MV surpasses 1.7 billion views, their third work

The number of views on YouTube for BLACKPINK’s debut song “BOOMBAYAH” surpassed 1.7 billion as of 6:25am on June 1. The milestone was reached about 7 years and 10 months after the music video was released on August 8, 2016.

“BOOMBAYAH” is one of the double title tracks of BLACKPINK’s debut single “SQUARE ONE”. With an addictive refrain and fun drum beat, this song is the first song by a new girl group to top the US Billboard’s World Digital Songs Chart. Not only the music video, but the performance video has also been viewed over 300 million times.

BLACKPINK, who reigns as the “Queen of YouTube” in both name and reality, has a total of 45 videos on their official YouTube channel that have been viewed over 100 million times, and their content has been viewed a cumulative 35.6 billion times, breaking new records.
