■What is the true nature of the “prayer” contained in MISIA’s overwhelming performance?
It has been decided that “NHK MUSIC SPECIAL MISIA – Kohaku stories” will be broadcast on NHK General from 10:00 pm on December 19th.
MISIA first appeared on “Kohaku Uta Gassen” in 2012. At the 63rd NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, MISIA performed their singing voice live from the Namib Desert in Namibia, Africa.
The sound of her singing voice echoing across the vast expanse of land gripped the hearts of viewers who experienced MISIA’s performance on TV for the first time. Since then, MISIA has performed eight times until the 74th edition in 2023, maintaining the charm of her singing style with roots in soul and R&B, as well as expressing her prayers and hopes at the time, as well as her life’s work. I have sent you my warm feelings.
In this program, we will introduce the many “stories” contained in MISIA’s singing voice for “Kohaku” along with an interview with announcer Maho Kuwako and footage from past stages. We approach the “prayer” that exists in the overwhelming singing voice and powerful performance.
