■ “I thought that humans are amazing. I was able to see the incredible power of people who are truly superhuman and have broken records many times.” (Yamashita Tomohisa)
The CBC TV produced program “Yamashita Tomohisa’s Superhuman Limits,” in which superhumans with superhuman abilities challenge their own limits, will be broadcast on 11 TBS affiliated stations from 2 p.m. on June 15th.
Hosted by Yamashita Tomohisa and Kote Shinya, this program is an unpredictable, new-sensational variety show in which superhumans in the areas of “memory,” “teaching skills,” and “typing” attempt to break through their past “personal best records = limits.”
Challengers (representatives of the nation) who aim to surpass the superhuman’s record also participate. A heated battle between superhumans and challengers, with skills and pride on the line, unfolds. Then, in the studio, the cast members, including Yamashita Tomohisa, predict the rankings.
The “Katsura-muki” superman is a top chef who holds the record for peeling a 6.90-meter-long radish. The challengers who will attempt to beat the record are a cooking comedian, a live-demonstration sales legend, and a popular knife YouTuber.
The “typing” superhuman is a speedster who can type 278 characters in 20 seconds. Two groups will challenge this record: a gal comedian who is good at flick input (on a smartphone), and the latest transcription software that uses AI and a “professional word announcer.”
And the “memory superhuman” is a world ranked memory sports player who can remember the faces and names of 19 people in one minute.
The three groups attempting to break the world’s top record are an ultra-intellectual comedian who graduated from Harvard University, a popular cram school teacher who teaches 1,000 students and has memorized their full names, and a duo of identical twin comedians whose genes are 99.999999992 percent identical.
Will the superhumans be able to defeat the challengers? Or will a “new superhuman” emerge who can surpass the superhumans’ records? It will be interesting to see.
■ Comment from Tomohisa Yamashita
I thought humans are amazing.
They were truly superhuman, and I was able to see the greatness of these people who broke records so many times.
I too found myself glued to the video.
I think this show will not only take you to an unknown world, but also have a positive influence on you as you learn about the mentality of superhumans.・If you had to choose a superhuman from among the show’s cast members, who would it be?
Einstein, of course. The two of them immediately put various comments from various angles into the video, and they were “superhumans who can put in various angles.”■ Comment from Shinya Kote
Not only does it showcase the amazing people who are honing their skills in a world we don’t know about, a world that not everyone knows about, but it also responds to challenging requests to push the limits, so there are many things to see.
The film is full of highlights that will completely defy your expectations, so I hope you’ll be amazed when you watch it.・If you had to choose a superhuman from among the show’s cast members, who would it be?
The angles of Inada-san’s face when you see him in person are amazing. As a unique actor, I can’t lose.
