■“When I watched the finished movie, I cried at many points.” (Motohiro Hata)

It has been revealed that Motohiro Hata’s new song will be used as the theme song for the movie “35th Year Love Letter” to be released on March 7, 2025.

A heartwarming and touching true story of a husband who learned to write from scratch and struggled to write love letters to his wife, and the wife who supported him for many years.

Tsuruhe Shofukutei will play the main character Tamotsu Nishihata, Tomoyo Harada will play the role of Tamotsu Nishihata’s wife, Akiko, and Daiki Shigeoka (WEST.) and Mone Kamishiraishi will play the Nishihata couple’s younger days.

This time, Motohiro Hata read the script for this work and took on the challenge of writing and composing the song, and the title of the completed theme song is “A Love Song in the Making” (release yet to be determined).

The song is full of warmth and kindness, just like the main characters Tamotsu Nishihata (Tsurube Shofukutei & Daiki Shigeoka) and his wife Eiko (Tomoyo Harada & Mone Kamishiraishi).

In addition, a portion of the theme song “Zutto Yuzuku no Love Song” can be heard in the movie trailer.

When I first read the script, I thought it was a very familiar, yet special story.
I was very happy to be able to sing the theme song for it.

The main character, Tamotsu Nishihata, rewrites letters over and over again. Although his feelings were changing each time, he wrote letters constantly updating his feelings for his wife, which were deepening and growing stronger. I thought that this image could also be translated into my own songwriting, so I created the song while feeling the connection to singing.

When I watched the finished film, I cried at many points, but the scene that particularly left an impression on me was the scene where young Shiho serves Eiko sushi for the first time. It touched my heart because I felt that my feelings and thoughts were being conveyed through sushi, beyond whether I could write or not, or whether I could put it into words or not.

I think this is a movie that people of all generations can relate to and warm their hearts. I would be happy if everyone could enjoy my songs as part of the movie. Please see it at the movie theater.
