“The 66th Shining! TBS announcer Shinichiro Azumi and Haruna Kawaguchi have been chosen as general hosts for the “Japan Record Awards” (TBS). Kawaguchi will serve as general host for the second time following the 2023 Japan Record Awards.

Kawaguchi has appeared in numerous dramas, movies, plays, and commercials as an actor, and is also active as a model. He became a hot topic when he starred in the Friday drama “9 Borders” scheduled for April 2024. In addition to his acting career, he is also expanding his activities in variety shows, such as appearing regularly on “Ningen Observation Variety Monitoring”, which is broadcast every Thursday on TBS.

Announcer Azumi has been the general host of the Japan Record Awards since 2012. It will be the 13th consecutive year in 2024. In addition to hosting variety shows and information programs, he has also been the host of long-running music programs such as “Ongaku no Hi”. He served as the progress announcer for the Japan Record Awards for 11 years from 2001, and became the general host from 2012. He has earned a lot of trust from the performing artists due to his stable hosting style.

This year, Announcer Azumi and Kawaguchi will be working together for the second consecutive year, making use of their 2024 emcee experience and working in harmony with each other to bring great excitement to the year-end music finals.

Additionally, John Kabila will continue to narrate the program in 2024.

On December 30th, a live broadcast is planned with the audience invited to the seats of the New National Theater and Middle Theater. Let’s look forward to the “Japan Record Awards,” which will be delivered with the passionate performances of award-winning artists and the enthusiasm of the audience.

■Shinichiro Azumi TBS announcer

As an announcer, I’m happy to be asked to host this year again, and I’m also happy to be able to continue working with Haruna Kawaguchi.
TBS’s technology, lighting, art, and production are truly working together to continue the history of the Record Awards, which has been held for 66 times. We want to do our best to bring this year’s music scene to as many people as possible with gorgeous and powerful videos.
I’m already over 50 years old, but I’m filled with excitement.
Thank you all for your continued support this year.

■Haruna Kawaguchi
I am very happy and humbled to have the opportunity to co-host this special stage to end the year with Mr. Azumi. Last year I was a little nervous, so this year I hope to enjoy myself the most and be able to emcee in a positive manner.
I would also like to talk more with the artists.
I’m grateful to be able to stand here, and I’m simply having fun while delivering the fun and excitement of the venue to everyone on the other side of the TV.
