■Adults who pursue romance take on the challenge! 3 months to a new world record
“Disposable Chopstick Gun” is a game that has been very popular among children, both now and in the past, where people make toy guns out of disposable chopsticks and compete to see how far they can throw a rubber band. DASH is attempting to set a new world record in order to surpass the Guinness World Record of 30.16 meters. The goal is a flying distance of 40 meters, an unprecedented distance.
The distance of an orthodox disposable chopstick gun is 6 meters at most. How on earth can I get 7 times that distance? As a result of the simulation, it was determined that in order to set a new world record, it was necessary to create a super gun that was 3 meters high and 11 meters long, which was larger than an elephant, and a rubber band with a diameter of 60 centimeters.
Yokoyama and Fujiwara, who were in charge of rubber bands, immediately obtained rubber raw materials and began making giant rubber bands. Then, a top rubber band manufacturer with 101 years of history agreed to the project and supported them. At a factory that is normally closed to interviews, he fully supports Yokoyama and Fujiwara in making giant rubber bands, even shutting down the production line.
Yokoyama and Fujiwara were so excited when they saw the giant rubber band take shape as they watched it, thanks to the amazing skills of the rubber specialists, “I can’t stop being excited!”
Meanwhile, Jojima, who is in charge of guns, teams up with a logging specialist, Karaushi, to find logs to use as barrels for rubber guns. Jojima dispatches a crane to cut down a 100-year-old tree over 20 meters tall that towers over a residential area, but he struggles with the extremely difficult task, which can lead to a serious accident if he makes a single mistake!
Three months after the project began, they brought in materials they had obtained from all over the country, and the construction of the giant rubber gun finally began.
The specialists who helped us all gathered together, and 50 people worked together for a total of 5 hours. A giant rubber gun with a total length of 11 meters, 100 times longer than a disposable chopstick gun, has finally been completed.
