SixTONES Jesse, “I’ll try rapping” in the 10th episode of the drama “Monster”

■“I feel like the time (with Shuri) has gotten better with each episode.” (Jesse)

Kantere Fuji TV’s 10th monthly drama “Monster” (every Monday from 10pm) is a hot topic in which Shuri and Jesse (SixTONES) co-star. Scene photos, synopsis, and comments from Jesse (SixTONES) for episode 10, which will be broadcast on December 16th, have been released.

This work is about a mysterious monster lawyer, Ryoko Kannami (Shuri), who is not bound by “common sense” and “excludes emotions” to face the other person. A unique legal entertainment where you face various problems and fight court battles as if it were a game. Jesse will play Yoshihiro Sugiura, a young lawyer who graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo.

In episode 9, Ikurai (Arata Furuta) receives a commission from an art dealer and creates new value in a painting that has been criticized as a fake. A show-off development. On social media, people said, “It’s like a movie as it goes back and forth between the present and the past and reveals things!” and “It was an hour worth watching, as the thoughts of various people were intertwined with each painting, and its value rose and fell.” The plot, which resembles a mystery to be solved, has become a hot topic of discussion.

On the other hand, next to Ikurai from 23 years ago, there is a young Ryoko, who beats the young Murao (Shohei Uno) with a nervous breakdown, reads all the Rokuho Zensho in his office, and sometimes shows impudence to her father’s clients. There are also depictions that are somehow connected to the current Ryoko, such as when she says things like, “It was an interesting episode that highlighted the foreshadowing that will lead to next week and the past of the Kanba family.”

In the 10th episode, which will be broadcast on December 16th, Ryoko gradually unravels the 12 years of blank life between her father, Ikurai, after consulting a pregnant woman named Sakura, played by Atsuko Maeda. On the other hand, the released trailer shows Ryoko and Sugiura (Jesse) dressed in matching white duffel coats, Sugiura raising his voice at Ryoko, and even Katakoto wearing suspicious sunglasses. Sugiura’s scenes, such as his appearance in Japanese, Ryoko has been a somewhat unreliable lawyer, behind the scenes of her success so far, with many questions such as, “Will Mr. Sugiura finally lose his temper next week?” “Will Mr. Sugiura finally show his fangs next time?” Many people expressed high expectations for Sugiura.

Regarding the relationship between Sugiura and Ryoko, Jesse, who plays Sugiura, said, “I think the “time” has gotten better as the episodes go by. I hope that the message is gradually getting across,” he said, seeming to be getting a positive response. Regarding the reactions from those around him, he revealed, “The other day, Atsushi Tamura told me that he was watching “Monster.” He said, “Jesse’s facial expressions and reactions are really good.” I’m grateful that so many people have told me that it’s nice to see a softer side to the story.”

Furthermore, regarding the much-anticipated 10th episode, Jesse revealed one frame of the trailer, saying, “I’ll do my best to try my hand at rapping.” “This is part of my role as a lawyer, so I hope you don’t miss this and watch it.”

■Episode 10 synopsis
Ryoko hears from an art dealer whose father, Haruaki Ikurai (Arata Furuta) was previously in charge of defense, that her father was once involved in a case in Gunma. At the same time, a pregnant woman, Sakura Yokozawa (Atsuko Maeda), came from Gunma to visit him, and since the arrested leader of the underground part-time job organization, King, was from Gunma, Ryoko (Shuri) ) thinks that Gunma may be the reason why Ikurai left home 12 years ago.

Sakura, who has returned to her hometown of Yamaharuka Village in Gunma Prefecture for the first time in 15 years, has a gloomy look on her face as the plants in the village wither and her parents and other villagers look visibly unwell. He says it may be located at an industrial waste treatment facility called Sakami Clean. However, when they appealed to the city hall, no action was taken, and when they tried to sue Sakami Clean for compensation and suspension of business, the lawyer from the neighboring city of Motoki refused to take action. As expected, it is rare and extremely difficult for individuals to file lawsuits against environmental pollution. Sugiura (Jesse) also shows more reluctance than usual about this request, but Ryoko can’t help but be drawn to the keyword Gunma. Then, as expected, it turns out that Sakami Clean’s legal advisor is Yuki!?

■Jesse (SixTONES) Comment
Q. The last two episodes have finally aired. After the broadcast so far, how have you received the reactions and feedback from people around you?
jessie:People often say, “I’m watching you.” The other day, Atsushi Tamura told me that he was watching “Monster.” “Jesse’s facial expressions and reception reactions are really good,” he said. I’m grateful that many people have told me that the presence of Sugiura brings out a softer side to the story. My family says it must be difficult.

Q. Is it difficult to play the role of a lawyer?
jessie: It’s tough (lol).

Q. Please tell us if there was anything you were conscious of when acting, such as changes in the relationship between Ryoko and Sugiura.
jessie:As the episodes go on, I think the time has gotten better, like seeing each other at the same times. I think it would be great if the sense of the duo and bond between Ryoko and Sugiura is gradually building up is gradually conveyed. It seems like we’re starting to see more and more of each other’s ad-libs. The parts where I blurt out a few extra words until the cut is made are improvised. That kind of thing is fun. It’s not good if you overdo it, or rather it goes in a strange direction, so it doesn’t happen that often.

Q. Sugiura reacted to Ryoko’s unexpected behavior by saying, “What?! ” I am often surprised, and there are various “Eh! ”, but how was it for you personally?
jessie:The director first asked me to come up with a variation of “Eh?”, so I came up with a lot of ideas for that part. However, when I go to the set and receive the reaction of the other person, I think, “Huh?”, so sometimes I try it and think it’s a little different, and it’s still difficult when the line is just “Huh?” . I like playing roles, but it’s not easy.

Q. If you have any favorite scenes or memorable lines from the broadcasts so far, please let us know.
jessie:I like the scene in episode 8 where Ryoko raises the teapot high and pours tea. That scene itself wasn’t originally in the script, but it was part of the director’s playfulness, and it was interesting. I also like the scene in the first episode where Ryoko breaks down. This is what it will look like…

Q. Please tell us about any memorable episodes you had on set. Also, please let us know if there is anything unexpected about your co-stars that surprised you.
jessie:As for the real faces of my co-stars… they are all kind (lol). During filming, we often talk about food. The other day, Shuri-san, Uno-san, Otsuki-san and I went to Yakiniku together. Everyone is nice.
I haven’t been able to go out for drinks with Mr. Furuta yet, but I heard about three of his favorite restaurants, so I thought it would be great if I could just drop by and try my luck and meet him.

Q. Jesse, please tell us how you relax during filming and what you are looking forward to.
jessie:What I’m looking forward to is eating. I also want to go to the gym.

Q. What are the highlights of episode 10 and future developments? Please give a message to the viewers!
jessie:Episode 10 will have a lot of outdoor filming, so I think the scenery will change first. As for Sugiura, I will try my best to rap. It’s part of being close to you as a lawyer, but I hope you don’t miss out on that as well.
