MIMiNARI premieres music video for new song "Yoenai feat. Anonymouz" featuring Anonymouz

MIMiNARI will release the digital single “Yoenai feat. Anonymouz” featuring Anonymous at midnight on June 5th. The music video will also premiere on YouTube at the same time.

“Yonai feat. Anonymouz” was released in 2023 as part of the “Demo Song Challenge,” a project in which only the chorus of a song was released on social media every week. The song tells the story of escaping from monotonous days and a restrictive world, and features an addictive sound with an ethnic floating feeling and sharp wind instruments.

Anonymouz’s voice is as ephemeral and struggling as if singing underwater, and it perfectly expresses the feeling of swimming aimlessly through the suffocating everyday life.

Monotonous days and a cramped world.
This song is a story about escaping reality.
Above all, Anonymouz’s vocals are truly wonderful…her voice, which sounds as if she is singing underwater, is ephemeral and struggles, and perfectly expresses the feeling of swimming aimlessly through the suffocating everyday life.
This song was originally released as part of the “Demo Song Challenge”, a project in which participants would publish just the chorus of a song each week on social media, but in developing it into a full-length song, the arrangement was also refined.
I hope you enjoy the sharpness of the wind instruments contrasting with the floating ethnic feel.

This time, I am Anonymous, and I participated in singing “Yoenai.”
When I first heard “Yonai,” I was given a strange impression, as if the singer was short of breath but not really struggling.
The more I read into the lyrics, the more I find myself empathizing with them.
The contradictory image of drowning yet being listless gradually began to make sense to me.
I myself have often felt like it’s pointless to cling to the never-ending sound of notifications, the constant ironies, and the repetition of everyday life, and I felt honored to be able to work with MIMiNARI, who is able to so vividly recreate those feelings through sound and words:)
During the recording, I tried to recall various scenes, and I adjusted the strength and thickness of my voice to tune with the floating and empty feeling of the song.
I think it’s the perfect song for when you want to forget about everything, relax, and put your mind at ease.
