I knew the melody before I knew the name, and I can’t remember when or where I first heard it.
An overwhelming sense of melody and a sweet falsetto that seems to melt into the night.
New talent for a new era.
We had a fish party at our house the other day.
it was fun.

■ Natori Comment
This is the first album by Imase, my friend and rival who has been working hard since the beginning of our activities. There are many songs that feel like new challenges, as well as nostalgic and old pop songs, and songs that remind me of the essence of when we first met. I felt that it was a masterpiece with a wide range. In “Rainy Driver”, I could see the roots that lie deep inside Imase. I really like it. I think “Have a nice day” must have been a song like a turning point in Imase’s life, and I was really moved by the fact that it was placed at the end of the track list. It’s a selfish interpretation, but I felt a message like “I won’t change, but I’m changing.”
You’re really cool, senpai. Let’s make some songs and go out for dinner.

■ Comment from asmi
I thought, don’t call me mediocre.
But by naming this album, the word “mediocrity” has been filled with new possibilities, hope, courage, and all kinds of light that can make life a billion times more interesting!
Thank you so much for shining such a bright light on my life.
I would like to continue living here, relying on Imase’s flexible lyrics and light melodies.
I’m so happy to feel this way!

■ Comment from Ren Kawashiri (JO1)
I’m Kawashiri Ren from JO1.
First of all, congratulations on the release of your first album.
When I see him contacting me often and having so much fun when I invite him out to dinner or to hang out, I feel like he’s a truly “life-sized” boy.
As we talk a lot about singing styles and songs, I’m always amazed at the breadth of freedom that exists within this always smiling guy, as he thinks about how to fight and makes all kinds of changes.

The great thing about the four seasons is that they change appearance dramatically throughout the year, but I think the beauty of the subtle changes and the process of change between spring and autumn is not just summer and winter.
I felt something similar with this album.
I think that the subtle changes that occurred within him, the subtle changes that he created intentionally, and the fun that could only be created by someone with such freedom.
I think this album will allow you to experience the free space that Imase exudes, so be sure to pick up this album from your beloved friend!!!

■ Comment from Keigo Sato (JO1)
Imacchi! Congratulations on your first album!
Many of Imachi’s songs really make you want to dance and have fun!
I was especially impressed by BONSAI!
I could really relate to the lyrics, “I want to continue living in this city that will never change until the day I die, just like I have until now,” and it really touched my heart.
I really love my hometown and didn’t want to leave, but I also felt that unless I traveled to Tokyo and took on a new challenge, the person I am now would never change, so I could relate to these lyrics as they have a similar meaning.
This track is so good it makes you feel like you’re having a great day! And I love Imachi’s voice more than anything!
I’ll listen to it a lot! And let’s go out to eat a lot! Imase, you’re a genius!

■Comment from Tani Yuuki
Congratulations on the release of your first album “Bonsai”!
I’m glad I got to hear about it first, thank you.
The title of “Ordinary Talent” does not refer to him as “genius”.
I felt the effort and hard work that had been put in over the years that was impossible to erase.

I felt a sense of speed pushing me forward.
It’s like they’re telling me it’s okay to take a break sometimes.
I think it’s an album that is very much like Imaes, with a lot of variety throughout.

And after listening to 18 songs, the last one was “Have a nice day”
I saw kindness
These words really gave me the motivation to work hard throughout the day!
Once again, congratulations on the release!

■jo0ji Comment
A melody that you’ll find yourself humming once you hear it.
An interesting development that makes you want to listen to it over and over again.
These two themes remain unwavering throughout the entire album.
Although the range of songs is quite wide, each one has a strength that makes it clear that they are his songs.
This is probably due to his gentle, soft, and slightly twisted singing voice, which is probably a product of his personality.
I think that if you listen to this album, you will sense the unfathomable talent of this man who describes himself as mediocre.

You’ve created a masterpiece. Congratulations.
By the way, I like the first song, BONSAI.
I also want to walk down the original Abbey Road.

■ Comment from Kitani Tatsuya
In what is sure to be a long and drawn-out career in his craft, I believe these past three years have been the three years in which he has encountered the most radical changes. It was a fruitful hour of music that vividly recorded the image of a man undergoing a major change, like a boy’s voice changing, and forced the listener to imagine what his future might hold in the next 10 to 20 years. As sung in “18,” for both Imase and the listeners, “the fun is just beginning.”

■Tota Comment
Congratulations on the release of your first album, Imase.
Every time I listen to it, I think, “This is the kind of music that moves both the body and the mind!”
Bonsai allows us to feel and imagine endless nature from within a pot, and this album is no exception.
If you place it in your life, you will feel a broader sense of connection and a cool breeze will caress you. Thank you for creating an album that allows me to enjoy it from many different angles! It’s the best!

■ PUNPEE Comment
The tree is about a quarter century old, and its branches reaching out from the cramped four-and-a-half-tatami room seemed to reach out to the world! It was so refreshing.
Imase makes me think, “Let’s go as far as we can!” It was a while ago when we made Pale Rain together.
I would love to use the extended branches to create a loft bed at an incredible altitude so that I could take naps there!
