It has been decided that Takehara Pistol will appear in the TV Asahi Drama Premium “Black Jack” which will be broadcast from 9:00 pm on June 30th. In addition, it was also announced that Takehara’s new song “Ichiyo” will be used as the theme song for the drama.
It’s been 24 years since Osamu Tezuka’s medical masterpiece manga “Black Jack” was made into a TV drama, celebrating its 50th anniversary since its serialization began. This drama will be a condensed version of selected famous episodes.
The drama will star Takahashi Issei as Black Jack, Ishibashi Shizuka as Black Jack’s rival Kiriko, Nagao Yuno as Pinoko, and other star-studded cast members including Matsumoto Marika, Okuda Eiji, and Hashizume Isao have already been announced.
Takehara plays Biwamaru, a familiar character in Tezuka’s manga. In the original Black Jack manga, Biwamaru appears as a blind acupuncturist, but in the drama version, he appears as a musician. He plays an important role as a source of emotional support for certain people involved in Black Jack’s surgery.
Biwamaru appears on stage at a live music venue in the drama and sings the drama’s theme song, “Ichiyo.” This is also not to be missed.
